DnB Beginning
Hi I thought whether to write here ...
DnB music inspires me so much, sometimes i want to make music.
So i believe that i am not the only one ,i know that among you there is someone who deals with professional DnB music. For me the best artist is Netsky.
His style is completely amazing.I love his songs.
And i wanted that someone says to me and to others more about it.
Where to begin and what to do what to buy.
Gratz
first stop calling them songs they are tracks second u can for start buy Technics SL 1200 MK2
. XD
for producing music, trancyfast is right, but at first i'd suggest you to try mixing. you'll analyze the structure of sound, you will know some basics. believe me, this step is very important.
u must try mixing first gj pro

his asking for producing not mixing.
to start off with something i'd suggest downloading fl studio and custom samples + watching guides for producing simple audio tracks.
Downloading FL,well i already watched some guides....
The drum n' bass you listen to, "liquid dnb", is something that I call fake dnb. I think that most, if not all songs of that specific "genre" are just plain dull and boring - I'm very saddened by the fact that more and more people just listen to this fake drum n' bass that didn't start the scene. Its new age-shit you guys listen to!
Anyways, the music I'm talking of is the rougher side of drum n' bass, stuff that make your ears bleed, vomit and drive your mind to the edge of insanity, trigger murderous and hateful thoughts that make you lose your hope in humanity, stuff that makes you want to rip the guts of a 6-month old baby and eat them raw while raping the babys mother...
Me and my brother(s) have been making some music for the past 7-8 years with different sort of computer programs varying from eJay to Reason, Fruity Loops and all sorts of weird programs that none of you would understand due to your sheer stupidity. Me and my brothers are superior to you, you are nothing compared to us, we want you to die painfully, weep in agony.
I don't want to give you guys any samples or links to our production since your virgin ears aren't ready for such destructive sounds. We'd get charged for murder if you listened to our tracks - your eardrums would melt off and your brains would squeeze out from your skull through your eyesockets. Only experienced beatjunkies and people who have seen the rougher side of life are capable of listening to our audiomurder... yet the majority of the people who are just ABLE to listen to our songs can't understand them as their minds aren't fully developed or advanced for such modern and unfamiliar soundscapes - the people who understand our tracks live in an euphoric state of eternal happiness, happiness that makes you see how shit life really is, that kind of happiness will make you want to destroy all life in this planet.
Fruity Loops is pretty nice - even idiots can use the program, but making more complex soundstructures with it will require a bit more ambition. It has been achieved by me and my brothers, we are living proof of what Fruity Loops is capable of doing.
that was hopefully a parody to some of dragon's comments hahaha
it's nice to see you're that interested in dnb niki, looking forward to hear ur first tracks n stuff.. anyways, i tried to make dnb by myself some month ago but it was so painful lol. downloaded fruity loops since it's the widest known beginner-program and i watched like 10 tutorials and started messing around with the program.
everything i made was so extremly cheesy and bad that i got rly frustrated and i spent hours on it.. it's not like i quited too quickly lol. so if you're going to try it be sure you have the time and passion to get totally into the software you wanna use. if you got the basics i'm sure the fun part will begin writing your own tunes and beeing all creative :>
well because it was that frustrating i started playing breackbeats and jungle grooves on my mates drumset, we also got a standup bass and i'm much into jazz-guitar playin. so maybe i get some cheap record-mashine and pull out some real handmade dnb-tracks (london elektricity showed a way to go haha) you could also take this into consideration, finding a band ect. that' definitly the moar unique method nowadays

well known feeling dude :D
i didn't read all this, but despite what you think trancy, vodkaboyZ minimal mixes/production is actually pretty fucking good.
I had no interest in mixing so never bothered with it, i don't think YOU NEED TO MIX to start producing.. but if you want to start producing tracks, honestly if you have no idea at all just look for some tutorials on youtube for basic programs, start with some fruityloops, pretty easy to use and understand.
talk to loveinabottle and DHT, I know loveinabottle signed a few dnb artists so he has a pretty good idea how it works on a professional level.
good luck and post up some stuff when you get the hang of it :P

kafds made some songs ithink, im working on a song my self, use flstudio if u wanna make something quick.
frutiloops 9.0 is released and good for dnb but I prefere v7 or REASON4 (just for composition not for live) is a very good hardware (I have warez version just query on mp lol) but its very hard to understand all the setting but there are good tutorial on iNet:)
And when you are good and you unerstand all go with => ableton live 7(not 8) & cubase that's the better for live perf
scuzzi bad eng... tired and high as hell

edit: my friend creates dnb for a 6years or smth, so I know that this one old track was made only with FL, check it out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K_pWFi9oKB4
