If i record in cs with 240 fps and in virtualdub the frame rate : 240 then i go to vegas and render with 50 fps i lose quality doing the 240 frame rate in virtualdub?

and if i record with 120 fps and put 120 at frame rate and render with 50 fps in vegas e will get the same quality if i record with 240? :S

someone tell me to record with 240 on virtualdub frame rate : 80 and in vegas speedup x3 i will get more quality?

(SORRY MY BAD ENGLISH :X)

wtf? let me give you four points which should answer your questions:

- the more fps you use on capturing you footage, the smoother and therefore better will be your quality. (motion blur etc)

- ALWAYS use the same frame rate in cs and vdub.

- the final rendering frame rate has nothing to do with the frame rate your footage had. the only important thing is that the frame rate in vdub is higher than in vegas. otherwise your video gets laggy.

- the commonly used frame rates are pal (25.00 fps), ntsc (29.97 fps) or sometimes 30 fps. dont use more, it is it not worth and your quality doesnt get better (rather worse).

lol, thanks dude.

that's not true...if you use 40 fps instead of 30 fps your video moves smoother...make 2 videos of the same shit and compare...

here we go again about output fps -.-
and yes, the quality is better with 29.970fps,
its better than 30+fps

here we go again vonch says that quality depends on fps.. lame.

hm.. dont really know what you want to say know. I was talking about quality and you start talking about smoothness.

I think everybody who understood the basics of moviemaking knows that high fps cause smoothness and unsharpness, and low fps cause sharpness but they get laggy.

i was taking about smoothness quality = imo is 29.970fps, I wasn't taking about the normal quality of the models ok (clear sharpness)? i wanted to clear this up
i hope you understand my point now

the point is:
if you want a slow_mo, then you need indeed more
fps /* e.g. slow down the speed twice better to use the dubble frame rate */
that is what the "hollywood" guys say :)
