I just tested and it seems that you take less damage from a fall if you have lower fps. I then tried measuring the speed with Numb's JBtrainer and found that you hit the ground with faster speed at 100 fps than with 20. Could someone explain this?
Does the gravity change (read something eDark posted in another thread) and in this case, to how much, when and why?

omg i wanna se explanation for this.. so i gues.. (and didnt get in text above)..
you can jump from little higher place by just binding the fps button at the end of jump.. near the ground

You must hold it all the way :/

Guess why edgebugs are easier with low fps?

I'm too lazy to explain you why it's like that, maybe later =)

TlofT28/12/2009 05:31

yeah ndr, low fps messes up a lot of edges and ramps in cs.

flibo, if you bind a key to change fps to 20, holding it wouldn't change anything...

best use is a long a spawn on d2 - fps_modem 40 and kinda crouch run down the hill during freezetime.

waplet28/12/2009 12:17

when i tryed edgebug with lower fps .. i even cant doit

if you bind in example: bind v "fps_modem 20" you need to hit it at the same moment you hit the edge. And it will help. High fps is used to do jb scripts, the perfect jb is spammed more often when more fps.

I think it's better with 20, then do it without scroll. Just spam the duckbutton instead, works perfectly for me :-D

lol qewi i'll try that then. everyone i know does 40 and you kinda have to learn how to wheel it. so i'll fo 20 next time im bored

Why did you guys totally change the subject? Edgebugs and jumpbugs have absolutely nothing to do with the original post's question.

Why would I do that when I can just write fps_max 20 on console? Duh!

PS.
alias +fps "fps_max 20"
alias -fps "fps_max 101"
bind button +fps

That's what I had in mind...

TlofT28/12/2009 18:12

oh i see what you mean with holding it.

i just do bind [ "name YELLOWSPRINTER;fps_modem 40"
bind ] "name TlofT;fps modem 100"

hahaha

Dower28/12/2009 18:41

way to steal a thread guys, no more talking about EB please.. I just want some opinions/facts about how the fps changes your velocity

opa28/12/2009 19:55

i just love those accidental grammar mistakes in threadnames =DDDD

WownuK;29/12/2009 01:42

lol, dagame.

OT: i can't see any difference. i take the same DAGAME with 250 and with 20

qewi29/12/2009 01:47

Same as cooki.cs btw, I tried it and there were no difference for me.

Juice29/12/2009 08:22

I tried it, I had -2 less damage with 20 fps :)

akkord mapper29/12/2009 12:45

cool go make a new wr with it, oh wait you cant have low fps in wr runs :/

ndR moviemaker Tournament #229/12/2009 13:08

The depends on the height you jump from.
How to explain...

It's all about frames, with 20fps you reach the maximum falling speed slower than with 100fps.

You can as long as you don't use fps_max :| But that could be a little fishy :(
