1. What happens in this technique?

2. How did you learn/do you practice it?

3. +duck on mwheeldown or up? do you think its possible with +duck on mwheelup?

4. Can you do it from running on the bottom on or do you have to land somewhere from a higher platform?

Thanks in advance:p

1. you just roll down your mwheel and so you press duck, and with every duck you make a small jump, and with some good strafes you can get faster, or keep a certain speed which you had before

2. I think a good way to practice it, is to jump from a higher platform and then try mit make one duck and then jump, then 2 ducks....

3. It's both possible, actually it doenst matter if you bind it to up oder down

4. You can do it from running also, but it's very hard
and if you jump from a higher platform, you have a good start speed, which you can try to keep

hmm need to press duck on ctrl and on mwheel? i dndt know that , i ll train =D , gstrafe is a great technique on hns world =D

fizik16/01/2010 19:06

But if I do it from running,I keep on pressing W,do the first duck, then I stop pressing W and then do the ducks + strafes?

And for your 2nd answer, wouldn't it result as the same if I learn Drop CJ or Drop DCJ (if that even exists lol) and so on?

Thanks :>

1- ground strafing is a combo o double ducks made with the mouse wheel where dont have a speed limit (like bhop`s 299) and if made correct and precise you lost nothing of speed and maybe with some good strafes, you can make some speed.

2- as everything in kreedz or in any kind of sport, you only can learn practicing.

3- physicly, i think mwheeldown is better. If you think that a double duck is 2 or 3 times faster (on time in air) than bhop you should use mwheeldown a lot faster and have a good resistance to make it sync for a long time. you have more control on the finger when you pull, and when your hand is on the mouse, pulling the finger is mwheeldown :D

4- you can do everywhere. falling from high place is easier, while running is normal and for higher blocks is uber hard.

gl on training

trolis is right. crouch running is a way to make less noise, but you run slower than normal. gstrafing is supposed to keep speed higher than normal.

everyone answered #1

i'd try it with /speed on so you can see how much you're losing on each.

i use wheel up, it makes no difference imo, since your middle finger doesnt affect your mouse grip, you can move it either way.

you can do it anywhere. good places to start is from a drop cause you have more speed, you can afford to lose some. otherwise, on ramps or something, will help you time it (ramps down ofc)

i think kzcn alex explained how he gets speed doin gstrafes and he said he uses ctrl after ducking from scroll,

at least i know one thing if u want to get a longer distance between ducks u can scroll duck + tap ctrl let go and jump, just like the cj u do on cg_coldbhop_v2 only ur doing it between gstrafe ducks

edit (weekly #74)
alex explains whatstandup double ducks are:
[blockquote]Standup double ducks are often used in a bhop combo or to reach a bit further by ducking down, the way to do this is same as we do crouch hops, hit duck on keyboard right after scrolling. Also an useful way to use this is like people doubleduck on to a short block, this could take out the stop when getting on to the block, wonder why brian's ducks are so fast? He uses this to do it, scroll, duck, quickly loose duck[/blockquote]

Standup doubleducks are very useful if you have lots of speed. Unlike ikm said, doubleducks always slow you down. That's why strafing is obligatory to maintain speed. Standup doubleducks have a longer airtime thus you lose speed less frequently and have a greater speed longer than you would with regular doubleducks.

lonewolf VIP17/01/2010 01:49

yeah, i was wrong in that aspect, 10 u/s that you lost I think.

standup doubleducks is when you have to duck to make a jump (on the final) but you want to bhop and you are too far from the edge, and if i am not wrong, youu release duck when you touch the ground and spin the mwheel.

Grrr17/01/2010 17:17

its better to call that technique "ghopping" or "mcj-running" or "dd-running" but not groundstrafing, cuz theres a technique where u do real groundstrafing and u can run with 277.5 speed with knife so thats a wrong name for that technique

TlofT18/01/2010 02:08

you mean like dashing or wall running? dashing is what some people call the running at an angle like a prestrafe

nucLeaR18/01/2010 02:17

3.

Imp using with mwheelup. I use mwheel up. I'm imp.

lonewolf VIP18/01/2010 14:47

I think he is saying about holding W and moving slowly the mouse right and left, right and left, and its work like a pre strafe, so you will get some nice speed. buuuuuuuut, you arent going on a straight line, so fast running is better. and also I dont think could be call it groundstrafing.

DiDo-Grecord holder18/01/2010 16:03

u will never learn this shit

Mcj-running oh my god makes me want to kill myself.

Groundhopping sounds promising! But oh well, the term g-strafe has been used for a loong time already, I'm not sure if it can be "changed" anymore... A bit like weirdjump
