my passion for kz

i have a very long history with kz my original kz clan REal had alot of kz maps made in the beginning but that clan fell apart after an attempted move to source and that was my first disappearance from the whole scene but i came back when i found the kzm servers then joined PhooGi awhile after that
so about 6 months ago i pretty much quite kz/bhop/hns, well cs all together. and started playing wow again
i lost my love for it and now i am thinking of starting again , but i think to myself will it be the same as it was ? will i ever enjoy it as much as i did ?

when all the drama with the cheaters in wr's and lj's started was when i think i began to not enjoy the game much anymore and the fall of hns to 100aa also helped in that .

anyone who knows me knows i would just lj and bhop for hours and bullshit with people in the phoogi bhop server ... i think that also may have been apart of my loss of love for it all ..
i got tired of the messages with people complaining about other people always having to be an enforcer of rules always having to spectate people and check them for hacks it just got old and became more work then fun

so has anyone else been feeling this way lately ? have any of you ever quite and came back to find kz fresh and fun again?

I've tried KZ several times after I quit, i don't really enjoy it anymore, not sure if this got something to do with "new" kz or just me who played too much in the past :p

I don't think it's worse than the old days. Sure, more cheaters are being busted but isn't that better than them not being busted? It's hard to give an unbiased opinion because I've played A LOT and naturally I've become very bored of the game, but somehow it seems that nowadays there are less players at public KZ servers, although that has been the case for actually for some time now.

Anyway, it's just natural to feel like it was better in the past.

wut i meant by "bullshitting" was the fact that there is too much new stuff, i liked the old days of no checkpoints at all, no ljstats, no nothing

its the same game. So it being 'worse' now, is just your own nostalgia. The only thing that might have changed is the people who play it - people saying "its not fun because its all about ljs and recording" - thats bullshit. Its about what you make it. If you want to record, record. If you dont, then dont.

Stop dramatising it like the game has changed so much when its exactly the same.

The only people in kz i really talked to was lagster and sean, and i still talk to lagster almost daily. I only go into kz to talk and fuck around now, and dont record - and for me, the game is funner that way.

I guess thats what you all think back to as the good days. When u just fucked around and didnt care about wrs.

So get ur heads out of your asses and stop caring and it'll be funner.

It's still fun to just relax with kz and some music for an hour or something, after work. The "serious" part of it has been totally boring for 2-3 years or something for me :P. So yea I lost the passion to I guess.
