Airstrafe Problem

So here's the deal : I've got ~30 airtime on my first strafe and i can't lower it down ._. I first thought that if i do tinier strafes it would do the job but it doesn't work ... So i am pretty desperate right now xD can someone help me ?

airtime on a strafe isn't determined by how big the strafe is, it's determined by how long you press the key.
try taking off more straight so you don't have to do such a big turn to straighten out
