A new war coming soon?
As most of you must know, the strong tension between North and South Korea isn't from yesterday...
But it seems that it's going pretty bad today:
A North Korean ship destroyed a South Korean one like 2 hours ago, and then South Korea started to fire.
I didn't find any more informations about this and that's why I'm making this thread to know if you heard some news about it?
That would be cool if some South Korean could keep us in touch! :D
Who are you again?
Sounds intressting, wana know more about it. :p
EDIT: I just read about it on "Aftonbladet", it's still uncleared that nortkorea shoot the torpead. But I would not be suprised if it was them. :p
All I know is there was a battle ship sinking for unknown reasons, well there was an explode, but i havent seen any proofs that it was north korea that did it?
Theres nothing cool about wars. And if a war was triggered it would have a pretty clear outcome; United Stats of America will assist South Korea, as they are allied. The US army is pretty powerful, but still North Korea would be a major threat due to its possession of nuclear weapons.
I've talked to alot of South Korean people in the internet and I've asked them what they think of North Korea and wanted some opinions about the dictatorship of the country itself. Most of them just replied "I think its okay" - why? It just isn't "okay", the whole country is completely and utterly messed up due to its so-called "leader".
The citizens are brainwashed, their vision of the outside world is twisted. It'd propably be an impossible task to return "order" and sense to the whole country even if Kim Jong-il was dethroned, as the citizens don't even consider him a human, but a GOD or something similar to a gods status.
A war... well, I could imagine a war happening any time. Its all just stewing up there, North Korea is a real threat. Kill North Korea.
P.S: I heard the news about the ship, but I didn't hear any solid relations to North Korea, just assumptions (which may very well be true). The battleship was sailing near the borderwaters of the Koreas and an explosion was heard, an explosion that hasn't yet been explained. I wouldn't be surprised at all if the attack actually was performed by North Korea. In 1999 and 2002 there were confrontations in the same sea areas.
Leave korea alone..!
Of course there is nothing cool about wars but I'm really interested in geopolitics.
In the 2 small articles I read they were talking about North Korea, I thought this was all clear.
The thing is that this could lead to the World War III...
The US support South Korea and China "secretly" supports North Korea, indeed they're the ones trading with North Korea, and giving them like 50% of their ressources.
But in front of the rest of the world, they're acting as if they were trying to calm North Korea down, nuclear speaking.
If they would really want North Korea to stop developping nuclear weapon, they would just totally close the frontier trade speaking, which would clearly create a huge famishment and a "constriction" of the state.
The government is using 25% of its national product in weaponry, they don't give a shit about people, who have nothing to eat. Imo it's like the URSS when Staline was the leader, but even worse.
Just dropping in to say that they've been in war for nearly 60 years already, so "old, but gj for finding" :)
North Korea should be blown out from the world map, maybe that will happen soon. Unfortunately that will probably cause some serious damage in South Korea as North Korea has quite a bit of firepower near the border.
I don't think the conflict is capable of forming a new world war, North Korea is no biggie really, there's nothing they can do and I doubt China or Russia will do anything dramatic either.
North Korea is like a bee without wings, it can't do much, but if you try to kill it, it can sting you.
might be fun to watch
they were playing battleship irl.
but i don't think that china supports them enough to back them fully, which is the only way it would turn into a world war.
something was always bound to happen..

None of us can answer that question. We don't know if there will be WWIII.
Yes, we don`t know. But there for sure will be some victims.
LOL I've never heard about this ship
there have been no proofs that the ship was sunk by a North Korean torpedo (the spokesman of South Korean army said)
