Hi fellows out there. I have a problem. When i export the map into 3D Studio MAX, the textures is gone. Ive "rendered" the map in "object viewer/crafty" to an .obj file. When i open the map in 3ds max, its no textures, its white and grey. I dunno the problem, may it be some settings in crafty?

hope you'l find the solution. the problem might be hidden in exporting the map from crafty or importing it in 3d max. GL

Export map from bspviewer as a .3ds file or something and then open it in Deep Exploration and export as .max or .obj. That should work :)

In object viewer when you export it as .obj you will get a .mtl file and a .obj file, and you will get pictures as materials in the same folder too. That way 3ds max knows what textures to load. But your saying it's all white, that could be because the .wad files to the map is not located so it can't load from them.

Here is an example: Here

As you can see the left window is textured and on the right is not, that's because the textures the mapper used is in the .bsp file on the left but not on the right.

You can open the console and check what .wad files the .bsp uses.

Hope this helps, GL :)

PS. Im so hangover and got the worst headache so I hope I didnt mess up x)

Use gw::Obj's import/export plugin for OBJ.

Never came across such problem in Max, but Maya is pretty bad when it comes to OBJ support. You have to manually assign the textures and it quickly becomes a real pain in the ass, especially when you're dealing with 250+ textures.
