Attention all mappers!
Murat "Arbalet" Zhumashevich has announced a $5,000 map contest.
The organisation behind the Arbalet cups is currently looking to add to its map pool, and as such a contest has been launched to find the sixth map for the competition.
The winner of the map, to be named de_cup, will be rewarded with a staggering $5,000 prize. The map's architectural work is to follow the same molds of de_inferno.
To participate in the competition, an email should be sent to [email protected] with the subject "Competition for map de_cup".

Prize fund distribution:
1 place - 3.000$
2 place - 2.000$
Works are accepted:
To send your works Competition on the best card de_cup "follows on mail [email protected] with a mark". Works are accepted till July, 5th, 2010 then within a week two winners of competition will be named. Also it is necessary to notice that three professional CS the commands which have been selected by organising committee, will test the given cards. Each command-tester in turn will receive on 1,000$.
Requirements to a card:
1) the card Scenario: «DE».
2) use of standard and non-standard structures (in case of use of non-standard structures, it is necessary to sew them in.bsp a file) Is authorised.
3) use of non-standard sounds Is authorised.
4) Value w_poly should not exceed 1000, and value e_poly - 5000.
5) the Maximum number of players on a card: 20.
6) Dimension of a card should not exceed following values:
Length – no more than 7000 unites
Width – no more than 6000 unites
Height – no more than 2000 unites
7) the Maximum distance of open space - no more than 2500 unites.
8) Restriction on the size.bsp – 6 Mb.
9) Restriction on the size of archive – 6 Mb.
Criteria of estimations of the sent works:
1) Optimization
2) Presence of errors
3) Workmanship
4) Innovation
update :
1) The contest will last 2 months,the winners will be announced in the first days of july.
2) There will be 2 winners - 1st place receives 3000$,2nd 2000$.
3) Those cards can be used by ANY organizations and tournaments.
4) By the end of the contest 3 teams will be selected to test the maps,each team will receive 1000$.
But everyone please remember cs map is totally different compared with a kz map. great design of the map sure bring great impression but what we need is a competitive and fair map. mapper should take consideration about it seriously and i think kz mappers should work harder on this point.

It sounds serious to me and actually I am considering to participate.
But it may be hard or even impossible to build a de_inferno like map (gameplay-wise) in such a short time (2 months)... You know, that map needs to be created, tested, fix some tweaks, test again, repeat until deadline.
And knowing me and my mapping "speeds"...
Plus I have exams this/next month...
But I will try anyway.

demolite, the arbalet cup is a new tournament on europe try to got information.. only cuz the mail you said this is a trap?
arbalet isnt a community and either a clan, it is the name of a tournamento like CPL . the ideia is of making their own map like (cpl_mill/fire) and the cup on europe 2010 will give U$37,000 on prizes...
i think on kz cmm has the most skilled mappers so it is a nice idea for you guys try to won this competition =]
