Short one, just about 1 minute long. Pretty much everything about the "movie" is random. Leave a constructive comment telling me what you didn't like and how I could do it better (edit/jumps etc.)

I really like your moviemaking style even though I wish it was longer.

I subscribe, looking forward to your next work, hopefully a longer one. Don't disapoint me! :)

pretty nice :) my suggestion would be don't use hq textures on d2 :s they look sucky, oh and try to render movie with same resolution as u captured it :P with that i think u will avoid that stretching

Mephist706/06/2010 22:49

cool jumps and ok edit apart from being it stretched :/. 4/5

k a f f e e06/06/2010 23:00

kaynerecord holder06/06/2010 23:02

Ggs`06/06/2010 23:52

cool tricks! and minimovie overall

chip07/06/2010 00:20

Thanks yall for the comments, I'll think about all those things, like trying to make longer movies, not strech it and avoid ugly hqtextures.

I only try to give some feedback about stuff that I "really find impressive", :) and so here are my opinions. I liked it, and among other contemporary short movies released, I felt it had something different. You succeeded in meeting up my expectations, and therefore I would write a review for you.

----------------

Everybody, as u might have heard, says - "whats in a name", but the name here in the first case, worked like a charm on me - Something? I at once decided to check it out. So, there u go, a plus pointer from me in the first case - inventive name, and not regular stuff like:
"xxx's doing yyy mcj stats on zzz map".
I hate it. You stood out apart here. Good.

Ok, Cut to the main movie.

Small, yet Powerful.
Simple, yet Effective.
Visually appealing, yet Distinct, you didn't blind my eyes.

Jumps - I liked them. Why? Because they had an iota of inventive stuff, however small the percentage may be. Doing something new is always better than reediting older jumps with heavier stuffs, according to my opinion, primarily because of the fact that - Your contribution to the work stands out, in its own unique way. And you had 2 jumps on dust and d2, which I like, primarily because of the "think factor" associated with dust, and to giving a "facelift" to that old jump of d2. Good. The last bhopcombo could have been better, but ya, its ok. Infy jump was nice, prolly it also featured in "Discovery", but as everything depends on the implementation level, and how well could you effect it up later on, so therefore I liked it.

Edits - Even better! Ye, I'm serious. Primarily because, simple stuff stays more than flashy 1 min efflorescent materials, and we all know that. Campaths were really cool, and I liked the inferno followup 3rd view.

Intro - was cool, I liked the way it had a simple, yet that oldskool movie touch, with a "emphasizing" starring textual approach. Good work.

NEGATIVES -
- That was an uber 5x, but no offense, I don't like inclusion of blocks on a trick jump movie. But that's just my personal acceptance level, which I disagree to negotiate.
- The hd tex of d2 became a little grainy, which you could make out after your landing on the block, and maps like d2, aztec, nuke upper walls shouldn't be hq'ed up. If you wanna hq up d2 anyway, see abstrusity hq version.

Anyway, I liked your movie, and I am pretty sure, in the near future, XJ would be seeing big from you.
GL for the future :)

Thanks for a great review, enjoyed reading it.
I totally agree with you, especially on the negative part. The reason why I decided to bring 241x5 was that I heard from some people that it actually was a world record. And the second reason would be that I didn't have any other jumps and I just wanted to end the movie and release it (same thing with that cruiser bhop demo). The longjump-demo just didn't fit in too good, but yet I decided to use that demo. HQ-textures wasn't the best as you said, but that took me a while to realise, and I really didn't want to take out the same clip twice with normal textures.
Appreciate your wise words and I'll think about that in the future.

I enjoyed it. Nothing more what to say about your movie, because everything has been said above by other users :P

Great tricks, own music and pretty cool montage, gj =]
