How do you warmup for lj? Do you go straight to blocks and can do strafes all the time or do you need to kreedz,surf..anything?

Whenever I start with lj,I get like 1st strafe 100sync and rest (6 others) have 0 gain and tons of loss : D So actually I go doing some hard maps like xtremeblock/sb2 and then try again.

I can strafe enough to make 248-252 all the time, and I usually go to ~245-248 blocks and when I can do them about 5x in a row I move up to 250-255 and jump around in them (often not having any luck with 254 or 255).

Often I just create a New Game with a random map and make tricks in it, quite often I also change the map to some standard Counter-Strike map such as de_piranesi/cs_estate and so on - I find some hard trick/combo and try doing that WITH NO STATS AT ALL. I don't consider that as a warmup-routine, but it works extremely well, I just do it because I like trickjumping.

I like to work my way up from 220 block to 250 block..
Well 250 is my limit (I ain't a pr0)...But it kinda works out fine for me as a warmup...

When I wanna practice lj, I always warm up in a same way, and that's by playing 3 or 4 bhop maps. With the last bhop map finished, my sync is greatly improved as well as distance. I still haven't figured out yet wai is that.

warm up on big blocks. best case, you get lucky and hit one. worst case, you miss big jumps rather than hit big jumps on small block

Gargoyle18/06/2010 09:31

KZ till my hands bleed. Nah, hard/extreme maps are perfect for getting your strafes good enough.

eviiL02/07/2010 22:45

just gs all teh time

pacMan mapper03/07/2010 20:28

make hardcore warmup, 250block for sure, because fo warmup the egde is important too, so when u start at 220 block when u done 254 block or what ever, where is the point? 3 month ago my warmup block was at 245, now its 250, maybe 1 month later its 252. big blocks for big strafes

Usualy just play Kz until i get a nice run if my strafes rly sux and i cant go over 253 x_X i just make new game and set gravity to "0" then move just useing my strafes..... aways gets the job done..Then go to kzljs2 and do a godlike block in every technique (240 Hj 250 Lj 260 Cj 240 bj 170 ladder) x_X and i am rdy to start a normal G33king day xD

How can you compare 240hj to the other ones? :o

MJK04/07/2010 15:19

In my eyes its the 1st godlike block like the 250lj 260 cj 240 bj 170 ladder x_X its a matter of how you look at it i gues .... i amy be wrong but that is how i warm up and it worcks out just fine for me ...

BAEVERN^05/07/2010 12:53

Before when I geeked lj and all types of "longjumping" I allways played a little hns before. The constant mousemoving and turning just made ze strafes ubaH!
