switching sound channels

My mates having a problem right there. In CS,and any pc game he hears sounds that are on the right side on the left side of his headset. He hasn't had this error ever since this headset and the only way to fix it is currently turning the headset around,which gives a big echo and is annoying to play with. After hours spent with googling we still have found nothing and so I hope to find some answer here. Anyone knows some program which switches sound channels for any sound card?! Or any other idea?

Have you tried reinstalling sound drivers?

Do you plug the headset straight to computer or with amplifier? If do, make sure your rca cables are plugged correctly. What sound card and headset do you have?

He has it plugged straight to the computer and he has some random onboard soundcard ("elitegroup ecs p4vxasd
"). His headset is a sennheister pc 151.
