Thinking about buying a used gaming PC with these speccs

AMD Athlon x2 3.0 GHz
Gigabyte AM2
8800GTS 320mb
RAM: 3072mb
250gb Sata
Coolermaster Chassi
Price: around 400$

It's cool if you gonna use it for cs.

I bought a laptop with the same parameters 2 months ago 550.The only difference is that mine has an i3 processor and 300gb and it's a notebook.I think you really could find a better deal with those money.

nucLeaR22/07/2010 00:38

Ye, that's true, 400$ for that is pretty ... bad

joons22/07/2010 17:05

Nice PC! New for me, gj!

u can upgrade this. maybe 9400GT, Ram 4gb n 500 HD

Kureno22/07/2010 19:13

The nVidia GeForce 9400 GT, is one of the wrost dx10 Graficcards by nVidia, then I would suggest the XFX nVidia GeForce GT220.

unBreakS22/07/2010 22:18

well nVidia 250GTS is not that expansive than gt220 but i `m telling u in personal expirience i have it and i`m satisfied

400 bucks seems a bit much for a used pc with those specs

Kureno22/07/2010 23:40

unBreakS, i got XFX nVidia 220GT by myself, and I'm happy with it, soon I'm going to buy the same again and set them SLI. If I buy ATI or nVidia Cards only by XFX

toooooo expensive

nucLeaR23/07/2010 01:28

I use 9600 GSO and I can't remember last time i had 98 fps.

Yeah. That's a lot of money if that's a used PC, not worth it.

About the GFX card, 8800GT is a fine card. I guess it's better than 9400GT since 8800GT is nearly the same card as 9800GTX (the best of 9 series), which is nearly the same card as GTS 250. Nevermind, read it like this: 8800GT = 9800GTX = GTS 250. They're just rebranded versions of the same card. GT 220 is worse.

Unfortunately I don't know much about AMD processors, but that one seems fine. This computer will run games with decent settings (thinking of Source engine games now, high settings are possible).

If that's a new computer, then that's quite old stuff (but it packs a punch).

of course im gonna change the graphic card with a 9600 or better :) and like a day after i made this forum my graphic card crashed so i play with like 30 fps on 1.6 with the new card :( But im gonna look for a better PC for a resonable price

propanelj record holder25/07/2010 19:55

damn you unBreakS, your picture is always distracting me xD

TlofT26/07/2010 04:35

flibo is right, but i thought 8800gt = 9800gt

either way the gts is much better than a 9400.. or hitmanz' laptop card.

going from 3gb -> 4gb ram is minimal at best, pretty useless imo.

same with hdd, unless thats a sloww 8mb cache or something the size doesn't really matter, you can always add more later.
