Hey guys:). I just have problem with fps death on windows7 because it doesn't work as it should. Program is running up but its using 99% CPU and reactions are delayed by 30s and some things in program doesn't work so i can't use it. Also slider doesn't reacts. There is a error about changing colours diagrams. Can somebody advice me how to solve it please?

FPS-Death was built under DirectX 9.0 whereas Windows 7 works with DirectX 11.0, this is not compatible.

If you got a legal copy of Windows XP, you can use a software to emulate Windows XP so as to use it, this is what I do.

yes as ndR said there are many software that can emulate SO's, i recommend one called VMware :D

I remember eDark said it won't work on win7.
I tried getting it run under windows xp on virtualbox and it didn't work since it doesn't support direct3d/directx. I think it would work under Windows XP Mode at windows7 prof/ultimate.

Actually the best solution would be installing windows xp on VMware player. You would get a drect3d error at first but after installing a directx and restarting the windows xp fps death will work fine.

DirectX is backwards compatible. DirectX 9.0 and older versions work with Windows 7.

These are the explainations I got from eDark when I asked him, it's just impossible to use on windows 7, even with the XP mode with the ultimate version.

I use VMware to run it, since Virtualbox sucks at it

So is it possible that eDark can come up with FPS Death Windows 7 version, cuz so far FPS Death has been the most widely used demo checking tool and nowadays all systems are made as such that it supposrts OS Windows 7 or higher...

Im running it on VMWare now too, works fine. Just the mouse is a little bit off and I have to start it like 3 times till it works properly BUT it's better than switching pcs all the time. Gonna try updating drivers in the VMWare Guest later, maybe helps a little bit.

eDark stopped working on fps-death (both, public and admin) ever since it got leaked.

Also it's written in vb (afaik), and he stopped using that language for coding a long time ago.

So I'm afraid there won't be any updates.

It`s written in Dark Basic (DB). In fps-death.exe file we have DarkBasic Virtual Machine and code for it. Dunno, maybe they released new verion of DB that supports win 7 => admins with source code of program (fps-death) should download it and recompile it (if DB supports win7), if not - no good news :)

Okay,I found a way to fix the problem with the mouse being not on the right position in fps death at VMWare:
1. Right click FPS-Death,go to Compatibility.
2. Choose [x] Deactivate visual designs and [x] Run in 640x480
3. Make sure your VMWare Player window is NOT maximized.
4. Make sure your desktop resolution on Windows XP is 1280x800.
5. Start FPS-Death and maximize it.
