Improved LJs with better mouse?
25/07/2010 22:07Soon im getting my Edge 3200 gaming mouse, i wonder if my LJs will improve when i get it? Im playing with just a regular optic mouse right-
ljrec 10aa: 249,6
ljrec 100aa: 250,7
mouse and mousepad is the most important thing in longjumping imo, try different types of mouses and see what fits you the best and stick with it dont change all the time.
Doesn't mean you get better. You can be pro with any mouse actually. (You just get a better feeling with a good mousepad and a good mouse)
exactly, its very individual. I play with roccat kone and did while I landed 256 block and alot of people thinks it sucks but i love it ;D
26/07/2010 04:09well tbh when I was in your situation (I had a logitech MX1000 laser), I used to have really poor strafes, I remember my maxspeed record was 330 and my block rec was 250, though I very rarely got 250+ stats. After I bought my first gaming mouse (DeathAdder) and after a big break also, I could rape the 250 so easily, and my maxspeed directly increased.
So, I don't know your mouse, but if it's a good gaming mouse it will probably increase your LJs
Well,let's say it's easier to learn ljing now. Probably because of high hz/dpi counter. Maybe it's been easier with a bad mouse some years ago because strafing was different? I have to admit,when I bought DeathAdder (mainly because my old mouse died,but with one eye on the nice reviews here) I did 5x 252 the next day which was my record back then.
26/07/2010 13:20I hope my ljs will improve. It's realy RARE that i jump over 250 with this mouse. ive only done it like 5-7 times :( but i cant lj now when my graphic card crashed ;(
dunno how long it takes but ofc it takes some time to get decent strafes so my advice is to change mouse and get a new graph card ofc ;p gl
26/07/2010 20:24;P i got the mouse now. And WOW! Im so not used to it xD it feels super wierd when aiming. And if i turn the mouse quickley it accelerates too damn much :S Need too fix this ^^
cancel ur acceleration, find ur best setting
and get used to it.
26/07/2010 22:25where can i cancel that?? cause i cant CJ with it :( i just spin like 360 degrees when i doa CJ cause of the acceleration. And when i fdrag the mouse left - right - left - right It goes Up, up up up up. Realy annoying when im playing :( I dont know if its the drivers or just the Pad that does it
had the same problem with my mouse too it went up every time i strafed. unfortunately i cant remember how i fixed it .think its something from the drivers
it can be plenty different things that fcks with your settings. Cplmousefix.exe, launch optionssettings:
-noforcemparms -noforcemaccel -noipx -nojoy
and turning off mouseacc in windows:

im playing with [ ] so its unmarked it removes mouseacc, you should remove it if you have it on, and no i dont play with cplmousefix but alot of my friends do. And all my settings including launch options im using is on my steamprofile go to my profile here on xj and you can find it and thnx for the compliment <3 :)

okey thx :D im doing like 250 units+ now before i did just 244 lol xD but i use cpl mousefix now to and unchecked windows acc or whats name it had xD and the launch options Smoooth^ thx :D
dude it depends on how the mouse fits your hand and how do you feel with it . I got logitech g5 for about 16 months(1year 4 months) and in the 1st year i increased my stats rec by 1 unit and the block by 2 :) and this year after long winter break I did 256 stats which is 3 units over my rec with my previous mouse but I really like this mouse its very comfortable . So it depends on how you feel with it if you feel comfortable and you geek you will get at least +1 units ...
i went from mx518 to deathadder to g500, so never really played with a bad mouse
first day i got my deathadder i did about 10 246 bhops, i had only done maybe 5 before that with my 518. also got 330+ms a lot on ljs which wasnt common before. going to g500 not much changed. i've recently been doing well with stats, not so much distance in lj, so practice definitely helps too
mousepad, i love the smooth feel of a new cloth pad, it helped smooth out my strafes a good amount too.
