NO pre with new keyboard
08/08/2010 18:24just plugged in my new keyboard, and when i try do to a prestrafe, i get under 260 prestrafe, dont know why. any1 got a clue? :S
How the fuck can anyone know why you can't pre? You haven't even posted a demo here... May be you should just geek the pre more than 5 min, instead of making a shit thread like "OMG guys I can't pre and I don't know what to do:(".
Just get used to the keyboard, that's all.

When i press W and then D/A the Speed goes to 270+ and on take off i get like 240 pre and a 220- jump -.-
Maybe your value of cl_sidespeed changed? It happens to me from time to time, I don't know why. Try restarting your game and computer and then try again.
I consider from your bit older topic that you are now trying to do many strafes. So you shouldn't do it. Start with Prestrafe only then go for multistrafes.

Im making the pre like ur supposed to do it, im strafing like im supposed to do, the speed just doesnt go up with less than 3-4 strafes that are SLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW and the prestrafe is still less than 250.. must be some drivers in the keyboards that are fkd up :S gonna try that sidespeed thing now

Back to the subject
Changing keyboard makes a big difference IMO thats why i always kept to the same board.
Why it can change your lj completely is basicly because you tap the keys differently but you still got the same mousemovement. So try to find a new rythm that matches with your strafes, start over with just pre but yeah as some guys already pointed out it would be easier if you showed some jumps
Or you geek too much. When I play too much I just can't get a pre higher than 265 anymore,even though I'm 100% sure I do it right. Just relax for 1-2 days then and it will be fine.
On the other hand try to get used to the keyboard.
fizik is right sometimes a little break fixes everything (works for me too)

havnt played in 3 days before now? i think thats a small break :P but im gonna try to get a demo soon

1 you cant strafe for shit
2 you got to low sens, your just mashing the keyboards
3 you got no technique what so ever at the moment
However if you give it some time and practise you will get there

I rarely do this but since you seem like you really want to learn longjumping I can give you some tips and tricks to get you started so you dont have to start making threads on the forum everytime you wonder things.

yeee, i know the sync was horrible and i had low sens just to try out and technice where? no pre or on strafes? cause the jumps are not so serious im just wanted to show how the Prestrafe gets when i jump.
but when i LJ forwards i got like 20 sync.. and when i LJ sideways i got like 60+ sync on 7+ strafes but pre is still low as hell. but im gonna trade in that sucky keyboard for a Logitech classic 200, im even gonna get money back when i do that. Im gonna use my old one for now :)
