There are those who believe that KZ is nothing but geeking and every single individual have the excact same skill level, where the only difference in how many hours they played.
And there are people, like me, who believes that you truly can be talented at climbing. That to become good at KZ faster than other people requires talent.
I don't think KZ is just about geeking, as a matter fact I myself used a lot longer on getting records, back in the day, than my "rival" (ndR). I think basicly it comes down to talent, and I'm not ashamed that ndR had more talent than me, I just think that's how it is.
Kunqui you don't think the game is fun?
It will be alot harder to beat 118 records now than it was when zhady did it. The only climber I like watching more than kkz, is T3d : )

koukouz, I'm not saying that anyone is playing only to reach a goal. But at least I myself set up goals in pretty much everything I do, not only goals that can be done in a close future, like beating a map, but longer ones as well. As you said the "interest" in kreedzing can come and go any time, and I didn't mean that I would keep playing when I had lots my interest just to get those 118 records, but when I had reached 118 records maybe I would start to lose my motivation. I'm a competitive person and when I reach my long time goal I would start to feel that there's not that much to play for anymore.

that was pretty much less retarded than some other persons' texts on the same page of the same thread. I myself have always been competitive and also set momentaneous goals, but the way it was presented seemed to be like "once you have reached 118 recs, you can't be interested in kz anymore, that's impossible". Well, KZ is not only about competition in my opinion, it's also about self-pride to do things that you thought you would never have been able to do (for example I really thought, even few months ago, that I would never beat extreme maps) and also/mainly about fun and relaxation, more than the regular cs because you can just chill on your lan and jump however you want.
People who think beating world records is about geeking should really think about removing this game from their pc, leave this community and do something that's not "geeky" for them. Maybe I misunderstand your definition of the word "geek", but I thought this word would imply playing without fun, only on a competitive purpose to be someone on internet? If so, then I'm very sad for geeks

KZ is not only about geeking, its something much different. I believe there are talent and koukouz has it in my opinion. I myself would never be able to take extreme maps or climb maps longer than 2-3 minutes. Sometimes I wish I could but I just can't and I probably will never learn like koukouz did. Its just talent required for this...
