avatar was pretty bad in terms of the story, but since it was his idea to do the whole 3D thing, and the insane landscapes, i think he deserves some credit. titanic is the 2nd highest grossing movie of all time (behind avatar) so its hard to not show him some credit imo

Trolis24/05/2010 02:52

Stanley Kubrick best Director of 20th century imo.

I can give him props for 3D innovation (and Terminators and Aliens), but I definitely wouldn't give him any for his films being highest grossing of all time, especially when they, in my opinion, totally suck donkey balls.

well i really cant figure out why his movies are so high grosing. i mean, there was cool visual effects in titanic and cool 3d in avatar, but stories totally sucked. for me on a first place is story, dialogues, humour, actor performance. so i would rate titanic 5/10 and avatar 6/10, while the departed or fight club or dark knight is 10/10

slaip25/05/2010 22:09

The Butterfly Effect
The Shawshank Redemption
The Green Mile
Fight Club
