dubstep is 125 BPM rate, dnb is 175 BPM

125bpm is house. Dubstep is 140. Also there's a difference in drum pattern

You mean something with a lot of energy? As dragon said, look up some jump-up, clownstep. Original sin, jaydan, callide, taxman, DJ heist, DJ hazard.
Also, some of the liquid tunes shine with energy too ;) for example look up Netsky's essential mix, there's plenty. Also you might want to check out artists like sub focus, DJ fresh, culture shock, noisia. Their dnb styles vary from liquid to neurofunk.

Thanks man. That really helped me alot :) And yes, i found this song in a Netsky mix :D OPA, YOU ROCK!

if you mean it is 70BPM, then you are partially right too. Any songs that have bpm relation of x2 or /2 can be mixed together. So, 70 x 2 = 140. nobody uses 70BPM notation though, trust me man i know this stuff ;)

one good example of this "rule" is similarity between some rap and drum&bass songs. you can mix them together sometimes, even though their BPM is vastly different. that happens because the BPM is two times bigger in dnb than in rap. (usually something around 85 x 2 = 170)

it goes along with jump-up or drumstep like nothing else does :)

@SeeHow, i guess you meant that electronic/tech influenced dnb? I'm interested, kind of curious to find out what taste do you have in dnb :)

SeeHow20/12/2010 15:00

Yeah, i think you are right Opa. Electronic/tech is what i meant. :) But i more when i play, i listen to dnb thats why i wanted to know, which Artist i had to search for .. :)

I think you guys solved my question. Thanks alot :)

SeeHow20/12/2010 19:48

since you know which dnb genre i mean, would it me nice of you if you could post some links like ndR did :) maybe some of your favorites?
