What is circle strafes and normal strafes?
What is circle strafes and normal strafes? I'm newbie on jumping, please answer. Thanks.
If u jump with normal strafes u turns ur mouse to left and to the right. If u jump with circle strafes u turns ur mouse radialy. Circle strafes easier to coordinate with ur A and D. Circle and normal strafes gives to u same effect.
Sry for my english.
didnt understand, can u or any1 record a demo, longjumping with normal and circle strafes? Thanks.

The point is, that there is NO horizontally influence caused by the circle movement of the mouse!
The special aspect of the circle strafe is the more fluent movement.
When you imagine a diagram with a continuously further moving player with a constant speed, not being influenced by the speed you gain with strafing, doing a circle strafe and considering that there is NO horizontally movement inside cs caused by the mouse-movement, you get a smoove sidled curve. (picture: circlestrafe)
With normal left, right strafing, you get a quite snatchy curve. (picture: normal)
Got it ? *g*
isn't that spelled nice ? :) I'm proud of me <3 *g*

Haya,
I'm jumping for quite some time now, except I've always been playing on public servers creating like a million checkpoints and not using/knowing any jump techniques ( >_< ) ( played for months pressing W while jumping :P )
Well, now I watched the (really great) guides and movies, read plenty of discussions about jumps et cetera, et cetera...
And now I'm getting the feeling that's it's not that I don't have talent for jumping, but that I have some kind of anti-talent xD
Best success with strafejumps so far was 230 and it doesn't work very often :(
Anyway I'm trying to train that stuff now, and I've got one little problem with the circle strafes : The Timing.
I just don't get any feeling on when to change the direction when using circles, anyone got any tip for me not being "train more" ?
I don't mean to complain here, I am training :D
Just wanted to know if someone has a tip on that making my training easier :P
thanks in advance =)
Hmm. I'm not very good at longjumps either and i've been playing for ages. I'm not sure when to chande from a-d I just do it without thinking. Maybe a pro person should get a video of them longjumping and bhoping, would be easier than the current guides.
From memory i chage from a-d when i start moving my mouse to the right, and from d-a when moveing the mouse left. circle strafes are the same as normal strafes just you move the mouse in a circle instead of from left to right, so the timeing should be the same.
ndr is very talented
