"Jumping in circles without moving"

I do not know what this jump is called, as this is why I'm here to ask.

I mostly see this is knife maps where a player would attempt to "juke" someone by executing this move. The player would NOT move in units but when he jumps, he spins around and lands in the same spot, WHILE looking at the same direction (not touching w,a,s,d nor moving mouse) it also seems the longer he holds onto whatever button hes pressing, he goes faster and faster.

anyone know how to execute this move? or know what it's called? thanks

just hold alt and move your mouse in circles

ye just hold alt and do wide circle with mouse :P xD it can be used on small blocks to do a bhop with good pre ( needs abit of pracice) ...
PS: all so can be used to dance around :P

are you supposed to jump when you hold alt and move your mouse in circles? i'm going really slow

Do wide circles and bunnyhop while pressing Alt.

I don't get it, I never seen something like that. Could you post a demo, please? From 3rd Person view if possible.

haha i seen this done in hns like 4-5 years ago and also deathrun and they never told me how until now in 2011 i finally learned this ( a few months before i saw this thread now ) ^^ HEHEHE.

about alt, usually binded as strafemodifier. could it have any use on kreedz or some special techniques? i have no idea what it does do o.o

Well iv found use for it .If you are on a small block (loke a spike on some of the maps) if you do 1 good circle jump u can hit good bhop pre and get a nice distance..So i gues if mastered it can be used like the 180 bhop jump for some Sc's or hard jumps ^^
The most distance i was able to do with it was 240 but i am sure it can be geeked to eaven more ^^
