so i just downloaded the stuff needed for x264 files. for some readon when i play it, i don't hear any sound. just the video. what's wrong?

no.. as in i'm trying to watch x264 codeced videos, but when i play them there's no sound
well if u just want to watch a x264 vid...use VLC media player.
If it still not works ... maybe ur PC is to weak !?
Cant play both without fps-drop, no sound and stuff like that ...

Maybe you are missing an audio codec. In that case it has nothing to do with the video codec (x264).
Open the file with meda player shit and look at File->Properties and than the Extended tab. There you can see what audio codec is used in the file.
