I, and probably the other members of the tourney staff, are curious about how you experienced our first tourney. Was it good, what was good, what was bad, what do you want us to include in the future tourneys. I know we had lagg issues, but that was fixed almost instantly, so don't bring that up.

Stuff like that :)

Some thoughts:

+ possibility to see live matches(hltv)
+ announcement system(steam messages)
+ some great exciting matches(mostly final)
+ swift play of maps when match started

- some players giving up too early
- in final hltv has 100slots, which was not enough
- only in-eyes demos to download
- :D sewerbhop(moving wall)

I would recommend players to keep playing whole 5min, even if they have no chance. It looks better :). More slots for semifinal, final matches. Review chosen maps, if there is waiting place for more seconds(elevator, wall, etc.), earlier gained advantage can be pointless.

All in all, it was very good tournament and i hope, there will be more of it. :)
thanks

All I can say so far is that a 16-man tournament is our next project. :)

Thank you for the list.

I'm not sure if kayne suggested this to monitors already but my idea is a live commentator, who would comment matches in communitys ventrilo server or possibly in livestream in future. (at least final and maybe semi-finals)

The commentator could tell some backgrounds about jumpers and worldrecords on map in question. The speaker should be verbal and quick-witted so listening to him would be plesant. English skills don't have to be perfect, decent is enough in my opinion.

I don't know how this sounds like to you and how much effort it takes to implement such a feature. Anyway your first tournament was a success, I enjoy'd the matches.

Also another way to get more interesting things going on would be incresing the amount of matches. I don't really see why the match for 3rd and 4th place wasn't played. (maybe you wanted to keep it simple so nothing can go wrong?)

SUBWAYZ, we were thinking of a live commentary. We will try and make it happen.

Thanks for your feedback.

Well i wanted to post my opinion about the commentators. There should be more than 1 comentator i think simply because when there are 2 or 3 it is more interesting.. and it could happen that the commentator has a moment when he doesn't know what to say and the 2nd comes in and makes it fun to listen.

Great tournament! I loved it, everything was perfect.Well, 2-3 comentators are welcome too.

chrizZo12/01/2011 16:27

@ SUBWAYZ

good suggestion, in the next tournament the 'little final' will be played to evaluate the 3th / 4th rank.
About the commentator: w1zz already takes care of it.
Thanks for the feedback ;)

I think the tournament was very well organized and I really enjoyed watching it especially the final. But I don't know why the demos were a little bit lagging

I would like to see a place where the results are posted, and where u can see when the matches are played - the scheduled ones.

w1zzrecord holder14/01/2011 18:55

balling. For the results page, check this: http://xtreme-jumps.eu/tournament/tournament2.php As for the schedule, we really don't have one. But I think we're handling it pretty well with the Steam Group.

Thx for the first link, w1zz :) Never saw that.

cahz0r Tournament #311/02/2011 00:50

my suggestions:
-add harder and harder maps as the tournament stages goes on.
-change the semiclip plugin because it`s bugged; whenever the players are close to each other the image turns sideways(this happens when speccing in hltv) and it gets pretty annoying.

Gargoyle10/03/2011 12:22

BUMP!

Hmph, the ongoing tournament is awesome and couldn't care less how often the matches get played (well I do care a little) but the way you have to find out of what stage it is going and how/what the matches been played is horrific. There is only the community to tell you.

One way to fix this would be with a plugin inside the tournament server. Assing the players in the tournament (one of the admins) and everytime a match starts it asks or identifies who are playing. In the end this site would fetch the data from the server and post it somewhere.

I know that needs alot more work, but I believe more people would pay much more attention to the tournament. Information is vital imo.

I've seen a few tables of how the tournament is doing ie. : http://xtreme-jumps.eu/tournament/tournament3.php (JUST found this: http://xtreme-jumps.eu/tournament/)
but in the end I hate to fetch those links... Even found that last one just buy messing around with the url, don't see any "Tournament" links on the side bar etc. The way of doing the tournaments is so well thought that the way of telling people what's going on is kind of forgotten.

i'd suggest you to put a deadline, because it's summer and people are not always here

eMTi11/09/2011 09:40

I think you mixed something up in group D.

I always thought each player would gain the amount of maps he has won as points. With group D you seem to have handled things different.

correct ranking should be:
1. gene - 7 points (3:0, 3:0, 1:2)
2. aloprando - 6 points (2:1, 1:2, 3:0)
3. lesic - 4 points (0:3, 2:1, 2:1)
4. cleen1k - 1 (0:3, 1:2, 0:3)

w1zzrecord holder11/09/2011 13:47

That's right eMTi. Thank you for noticing, it will be corrected.
