It's very simple, imHo you should do less video and do better ones.

For instance, here is a clip I made for a french contest some times ago (I wasn't very good at AFX at this time), you should try to create an animated typography, maybe not as "complex" (if I dare to say it) as mine, but smthn original ! :D

I use sony vegas , adding the transition will cause to render about 2-3 days :(
EDIT : No matter which way and stuff , but I learn how to do this type of typos !

Download Adobe After Effects first. The CS4 or the CS5, it doesn't matter (I have the 4th)...
Then learn how to use it here : http://www.videocopilot.net/tutorials/ and doing such typography videos won't be that hard anymore, cuz it remains pretty easy, you just gotta work with the font, opacity, movements, etc...

Btw, if you only use simple texts the render will be fast, don't worry about that.

Btw Chuck, I always advise ppl who wanna learn this software, to first watch this tutorial, it gives many basic knowledges that may be enough to create smthn very cool.
