rofl @ logitech, nvidia, razer, roccat in start? isnt that illegal to use unless ur sponsored or something? why you put it there in the first place to make it look more professional?

-easy jumps
-ugly cuts
-ugly first song
-ugly colors
-ugly textures
-ugly campaths with WAY too much earthquake effect

+2nd song :p

I'm sry but I really dident enjoy this movie at all but since it was made in 1 day i guess it was okey.

But you should really try to spend more then 1 day in making a long movie trust me the result will end up so much better.

I also see it was ur first upload to Youtube? So my guess is that you are still new at moviemaking so keep editing! Good job tho :)

eeriness, and fully agree with wrathful

lurp12/02/2011 08:33

Overused songs, too much earthquake/shaking effects, shitty colors... The jumps seems easy, the militia's bhop jump only impressed me.

That shake effect is so fucking lame.Trying to copy ndR's style.. even the name... sorry but i don't like it.Oh and the cuts were so random made.

Sorry, but a lot of moviemakers use "this effect" in movies for syncing and something like that and you are said It is ndR's style. Sometimes it is better to whisht than say something.

I doubt it's legal to use these logos at the intro.

Depending on if he has an arrangement with those companies. Maybe he uses them to advertise them, it's their decision if it's a rather bad advertisement then.

I mean its randomly used, there wasn't any sync, and it looks ugly when its longer than 2secs(without sync) imo.

jokeruz12/02/2011 13:58

okay first i want to say this short movie is my 2 or 3 work and i just spend one day on it.the companies in the beginning are not my sponsors.i am just a fan and do a advertise :D.made this movie to practice moviemaking.i know it sucks but everybody starts from somewhere, right?

I personally don't mind the similarity with my "Surfology", I wasn't even planning to make a "Trickology" so it's not a problem for me.

If you're starting moviemaking, then I think it's rather good.
Take a look at this, it's one of my first kz video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rlJO1KneWiE

Funny eh? :)

Back to business: your intentions about the use of these effects were good, but you didn't use them in a good way.

1. Try to avoid using too many different color filters in the same movie. You have to follow a "color guideline":
considering the songs you're going to use and the atmosphere you aim for your project, you got to choose a maximum of 3 main colors which must not be too different (this is my personal opinion though).

Dark colors if you use death metal songs, Saturated and colorful if it's a pop song, and so on...
To determine this fact, it's really easy: just listen to the songs and think about the feelings you got while listening to them (happiness, depression...).

You can also imagine real life movies: Star Wars movies have a blue filter, which fits with the steel of the spaceships and the stars, if they'd use a red filter in a single scene you would be "wtf?".

2. The shake effect is really awesome, but it has to be used parsimoniously. If you use it too much it will quickly bother the watchers.

3. Watchers are almost more important than yourself: they will do the success of your movie if they think it's good.
This is why you have to think about what they want, what they prefer and what they expect from a kz movie.

4. Except if you want to accomplish a very special effect, try to avoid strong vignettes: many watchers don't like it, try to find the medium between a "soft" but still "noticable" vignette.

5. Don't hesitate to spend more time on a project:
there are things that you don't see today, that you will see tomorrow.
Take your time, do many pre-renders and watch alot your beta movie: you'll be able to see every single detail of it, and thus you'll be able to remove the bad stuff.

I hope it helped you.
I might write a "How to avoid basic mistakes in your movie projects" tutorial if you guys like it, since I got many more simple rules like these for moviemaking ^^

Best regards.
