intel extreme onboard II graphics :/
Basically the problem is that (when lan kz-ing at least) I have stable 75 fps, I guess this is because of the 75 hz refresh rate on my tft... On some rare occasions fps will be at 100 (i.e. stabley at 100 then next time i open cs its back down to 75 again), I have no idea why this happens, im doing nothing different it just does.
I know turning v-sync off would probably fix this, but unfortunately in the graphics properties of the shitty onboardness there is no option for it, all it really offers you is refresh rate and screen rotation :/ (max RR is 75hz).
So i'm basically trying to get stable 85 fps for a demo (im not good, just wanta do the tourny :D), anyone have any ideas? (my config has quite a few of the low fps commands in it already though not all!). There must be something that makes it get to 100 and stay there on those occasions, just dunno what it is. :(
Any ideas appreciated

Try to find out what lablel this onboard graphics has got and install the right drivers. I Guess it's a nvidia or ATI card anyway.
Another solution would be to buy a real graphic card.
But as far as I know intel isn't producing graphic cards, so this onboard graphic might me have a nvidia or ATI chip.

no can do with the new graphics card... stupid dell motherboard only has a PCI slot, and i don't wanta spend £50 for a pci card which isn't really gonna perform too much better than the onboard..
im pretty sure the drivers are right too, i think intel only produce onboard graphics instead of actual cards.
Bit of a weird problem really :( I found today that i get 100 FPS when i alt tab out then back in with winamp open, but the ingame sound is all tinny... so its ok for kz but not for normal, my comp is very very strange :p
ty for the help tho

the refresh rate of your monitor has nothing do to with your fps in cs
actually it does... if your monitor is set to e.g. 75 hz and vsync is on then fps won't be shown above 75fps (itll just stick at 75).
counter-strike automaticly forces your refresh rate to 60 hz unless you change it. (at least thats my understanding)
fuzzerd : no..
if you were right, we all would not be able to get more than 60 fps..
Because the refresh rate can't be less than your FPS,
UNLESS your fps (net_graph / cl_showfps) could show wrong information, or your monitor settings are showing wrong information for your hertz.
it's just sensefull..
example:
Your net_graph shows 100 fps constantly..
That means, that your computer is producing 100 frames in one second ( yes :D ).
If you now say, that your monitor refresh rate is 60 Hertz it wouldnt make sense, because your monitor is only doing 60 refreshes in one second, how can he show up 100 different pictures then ?.. impossible , right?
sounds simple, but the hook is, if your net_graph shows, that u got 100 fps anyway, it's not a 100% lie.. because your computer is producing 100fps but your monitor is not able to show, thats why your net_graph is lying in this case. in some cases net_Graph shows 60fps then.
my advise to all with fps problems, set your refresh rate allways at least 85Hz for normal monitors..
if you buy a TFT, buy a good one, and watch its data before you buy it..
u can do many things wrong with TFT's, i personally dislike it

If you have 100fps in cs your computer produces 100 frames per second, period.
Even if your monitor doesn't update with a rate equal to 100 or over it will still produce 100 frames per second.
This doesn't affect your game experience at all.
But if you see in cs that you have 60/75 fps it will be slightly different than playing with 100 fps.
And it's weird that you get 75fps because as far as I know fuzzerd is right about that statement, it's a "bug" in cs. So you should actually have 60fps if your computer can handle it and if you have v-sync turned on. And the refresh rate of your monitor shouldn't affect this.
Edit: Forgot to add that I don't know how to fix your problem, sorry.
