Hey yo,

I was just wondering why wasn't there any kz pros in India submitting any demos or anything.

I must say it's a little bit weird 'cause they're like 1.2 Billion and no one Kreedz ? WTF ?

Compared to China (for the population ofc), the Chinese have a good Kreedz scene with high skilled players (thinking of 26, Zefix, sKiCg, TroPo, ...).

Maybe A3T!US could explain or give any infos about it.

Best regards, WOOF.

Any pro "regular" cs players in India? If no or number is very small, u got the answer

kunqui17/04/2011 19:26(edited 17/04/2011 21:17)

Why should they play computer games if they made them?

PepoMerca18/04/2011 00:43(edited 18/04/2011 00:46)

In Bulgaria there are 8M people and 1M play CS, and maybe 2000-3000 Kreedz , jumps...
In China, India... a lot of other country more of the people dont have even PC, but actually in Korea, China , JAPAN , and part of india are playing very hard DOTA and WoW , also Singapure and Vietnam... DOTA and WoW for them is like National sport :)

Sir, Thank you for the beautiful statement.

-------------

Anyway,

Tbh with u people, there are so much things to say, I don't know where to begin and where to end. Most of the ppl aren't that informed abt kz. Everybody (those playing cs) are fulltime shooters/fraggers. Never there has been any online kz tournament too in the past. Nor there were any proper kz dedicated fulltime servers. Though nowadays we could see some stuff sprawling up, and its good to see.

When I was clanning for Lan tourneys with a stable clan; my clan members always rebuked me for they felt I was wasting my time "jumping around", they were like:

"srsly dude wtf is that crap? go do that shit in ur beloved xj or whatever website u call it."

My efforts at making them understand the value and the importance of this website always ended up in vain, cause I ended up in an almost 1:1000 with opponents.

At that moment after getting crushed by people, i tried saying to myself:

"i hope life is not a joke, cause i don't get it" :D

So u can understand, its messed up. From the last couple of years, however we saw some newer kz enthusiasts and people who started playing kz with interest, loving it and such. New servers were set up, we got some enthusiastic people who could most probably do some good things. Aoi is good, he has the skills, but nowadays recs on xj is pure skill business, also over the years the skillset improved by a huge leap. When i joined the site 3.5-4 yrs back (guys from that time would know).. things have changed so much from then. You have to be in constant touch with cs, with kz, with the stuff u do etc.... i dont know if any guys here can devote that much of time on gaming. Peer pressure, academic pressures, admissions, jobs, life's difficult here. For example, I will be moving out soon for studies. I don't know how to fit gaming in my life from now on.
Damn it, **** :|

The less competition in any field be it research/studies/development/gaming etc makes the development rate pretty slow, and i guess its the same case here.
Whatever no of guys are doing pc-gaming, cs occupies 60-70% of it (dota killed a lot of cs enthusiasts), and in that 60/70 percent too, abt 99% too get pretty complacent after getting a "pro" shooter tag, kz is prolly a distant dream, as of now.

gg :(

Well I am a bit late to post a reply to this topic but better late than never :D

The precise reasons for the current state of kz in India are as follows:

1. The kreedzers from other countries start as early as the age of 14 (on an avg) and retire by the age of 20 (on an avg). But in India kreedzers start from the age of 20 or so. The reason being, Indians are too busy in the rat race of becoming an engineer or doctor, that they hardly waste time on computer games at those teenage years. The result being they are hardly able to continue in the scene for than 2 years or so and so they aren't able to make it to the international standards.

2. Indians prefer RTS (Real Time Startegy) games instead of FPS games when it comes to playing alone. And in case of multiplayer games, they just search up google and list out the top 10 games in the world and devote their entire time beating and mastering those games.

Over the years, the main enemies of CS in India were some worthless games like Fifa, Halo, DotA, AOE, etc

3. When it comes to Counter Strike Indians always prefer shooting more than kreedzing. Those that get motivated a bit, practice kz only till they learn a few tjs in the de_ maps to show off in clan wars. After that they are too lazy to continue and find it boring to "just jump" alone

4. Being a vast country, kzers are not well-connected amongst themselves so that they can communicate, play, learn and get better together. Ego probz amongst a few of the "better ones" also hinder the growth of kreedzing as a whole in the country.

I sincerely wished that me and prad could continue in the scene for another couple of years regularly. May be then we could have put some Indian recs in the WR scene. but we are old enough and we need to focus more in our professional life than to fool around with kreedzing.

Nevertheless, it came to my knowledge that some young kidz have really taken kreedzing seriously these days. May be one or two of them could do what me and prad once dreamt of...

I understand perfectly A3T!US but the fact is that among the emerging countries (no bad thoughts in this word ofc !), there are also China and Brazil for instance. And you have to admit they have a pretty organized Kreedz scene over there ! 3 wr holders in Brazil and 4 in China. They all want to go as higher as possible in studies and all that kind of stuff !

2. Indians prefer RTS (Real Time Startegy) games instead of FPS games when it comes to playing alone. And in case of multiplayer games, they just search up google and list out the top 10 games in the world and devote their entire time beating and mastering those games.

This seems to be the most valuable explination, even if CS is still among the top10 online game I recon !

I think people who prefer shooting (some, not all) will come to kreedzing some day. Just for a random example, I used to run on the ESL Master Series with a French Team and always thought that kreedzing was a huge waste of time. I changed my opinion and now I only kz (it's been 2 years I stopped ESL Masters).

It will be cool to see some geeks from India to rip some maps, hopefully someday we'll see it !

Time will tell :D
