First Strafe Sync Always Bad.. How's Thi
Hi, for some reason my first strafe's sync is always bad... usually like 50-75%. Even when I do only 1 strafe I can't get over that. I know that I am only pressing one key and moving my mouse in one direction. I also almost always have a very good prestrafe (273+). Also, I am jumping at the right time for me to get max distanc, so I just don't understand why my sync percentage is so bad.
Release "+forward" button before you press jump key. not after that. and there's a special thread for questions about lj, so it's not necessary to create a new one.
i never have my forward key held down while im in the air...
This happened to me before, and it wasn't just my first strafe. Using a higher polling rate on my mouse seemed to fix it.
As long as your distance is fine, it could just be some stupid stuff with the LJ plugin. With 273+ pre and one strafe, you should be getting 237 to 239 distance with a good slow, smooth turn. It's probably some problem with LJ stats. I have long since suspected that the LJ plugin gives bugged or inaccurate stats sometimes.
i was having the same problem and sadly i fixed it in 2 seconds
no asshole ever told me i have to let go of both keys after i jumped before going into the first strafe ,so i always had a or d held down

my sync was totally ruined, somewhere around 5%(!) to 30% and i just did ANYTHING (except for what you just said) and nothing worked. now im back to ~90% again.

That's kind of strange, I've always held D down (right pre) going into my jump and my first strafe is always highly synced.
Also, in response to what jigsaw said, when I release forward too early it ruins my pre, causing it to drop to 260 or less. I 'mentally' hold W just a bit longer than I think I need to, usually a little after I jump, because of this problem.
But there is a danger in holding W to long. I have a hell on this one. 100 sync on first strafe veeery often. Good gain. but 22+ airtime.
So im trying, instead. To release W faster so i can strafe faster. Well. LJ is a bitch anyway!
