Hello guys. I have a question I really need a fast answer on.
Shortly said, is there a way to input rain on a demo. For example, opening a demo on dust_2 and writing a command in hlae or smth. I think if it even is possible, it would be something like "mirv_fx_skyhd", can't figure it out though. Not sure if it is even possible.
Please, if somebody knows, tell me.

Hello.

The mirv_fx_skyhd thingy is used when you changes the texture of the sky, not the WEATHER, which are an entity, not a texture. If I remember right, the only way to create rain is to make it via after effects + some others plugins and stuff. If you're looking for a great example of it you can watch Mix(Ep) solo gaming 3 skrel or something i don't remember the exact name but it's easy find.

Obviously by changing the sky, the weather won't change. I was asking if there is a command that can input the rain from the game. So there is no way to do it in HLAE? :/

Hello,

First of, I want to state that I am not a moviemaker so I am not sure if I fully understood you.

Do you mean rain like this? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GS9eRFwAnGg

there's a file to let it rain on every map you want, oui was the first to use it in "cold autumn", i once used it for madhouse, then thought it would look shitty to have rain on dust for example and removed it again.
nowadays i dont have that file anymore, but with some research you should be able to find it

First of all, It's not impossible...

It's rather quite simple. You will need the program BSPEdit so you can add a command.

Then you wanna open up the same map as the demo take place on.
And you wanna add this to to the bottom

{
"classname" "env_rain"
}

And you might wanna add two blank lines below just incase.

Then put the map in youre maps folder (cstrike\maps) and then start cs.

Before you do anything type in cl_weather 1-5, then type "map de_dust2" or the map you just configuerd.

Hopefully you will now be able to see rain in the map.
So if you do you can now type "viewdemo "

This can be very buggy and you might not actually see rain untill next round starts.

This does NOT work for HLTV-demos and should not be used on campaths. Since its very buggy.

If you want snow you just add "env_snow insted of env_rain". Even fog is possible though you will need to put a few extra commands.

{
"classname" "env_fog"
"rendercolor" "196 196 196"
"density" "0.0015"
"startdist" "0"
"enddist" "0"
}

and then put gl_fog 1 ingame.
