AMX mod X help!!!!

I've tried many different things to make the amx mod X work... but when starting up "new game" my counter-strike freezes and shuts down. Asked a lot of my friends, but some thought it might be that im runnin 64-bit windows...? can it be easy as that? and one other guy said that I should follow his instructions installing, but didnt work either

1st delete the liblist.gam file,then open cs and launch new game from menu and choose random map,3rd step is to quit cs when it loads and opens map,then copy the liblist.gam file from the xj official pack 2.1 to cstrike and replace,4th step-play.
