Salutations, confederates,

I think we've ignored an important subject for an adæquate period of time. 4 days have passed since the tragic loss, yet grief still looms in our hearts stronger than we could ever have imagined. Kim Jong-il, the supreme leader of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, died of a heart attack on a train while on a field guidance tour. North Korea has entered a mourning period of 11 days, but sadness will follow a lifetime.

This loss was not only great for all the North Korean people who directly suffer from this loss, but it was also a great blow on all of humanity. This genious and genuine leader of all contributed greatly to the world. In memory of the successor of his father, the Eternal President, Kim Il-sung, I have gathered some incredible facts about the late supreme leader.

1. Kim Jong-Il "coached" the 2010 Korean World Cup soccer team with an invisible phone.

North Korean manager Kim Jong-Hun reportedly gets coaching advice directly from the country's diminutive dictator via an invisible cell phone.

According to ESPN.com the coach has claimed he gets "regular tactical advice during matches" from Jong Il "using mobile phones that are not visible to the naked eye."

"Jong Il is said to have developed the technology himself," coach told ESPN.com.

2. In 2004, Kim Jong-Il invented the hamburger

North Korean leader Kim Jong Il has introduced hamburgers to his reclusive, communist country in a campaign to provide “quality” food to university students, media reported Wednesday.

The hamburgers were introduced in 2000 and dubbed “gogigyeopbbang,” Korean for “double bread with meat,” according to the June 29 edition of the North Korean state-run newspaper Minju Joson.

3. There is a flower, Kimjongilia, named after him

Kimjongilia is a flower named after North Korean leader Kim Jong-il. It is a hybrid cultivar of tuberous begonia.

Contrary to popular belief, the Kimjongilia is not a national flower of North Korea. The national flower of the country is the magnolia.

4. Kim Jong-Il's biography claims his birth was "foretold by a swallow and heralded by a glorious double rainbow and the appearance of a new star"

Kim Jong-il's official biography states he was born in a secret military camp on Baekdu Mountain in Japanese Korea on 16 February 1942. Official biographers claim that his birth at Baekdu Mountain was foretold by a swallow, and heralded by the appearance of a double rainbow over the mountain and a new star in the heavens.

As one could be inspired to write a thousand books about this amazing person it is hard to stop writing and learning about Kim Jong-il's life achievments, yet somehow I feel as if it is better to keep it short and respectful.

Rest in peace, Kim Jong-il. May you one day rule the heavens.

Let us have a moment of silence in respect.

Tragic news indeed.

Thanks for the very kind words you wrote Lolo', I'm sure He would appreciate. I think you just forgot one thing : It's also a very tragic loss for the golf world :

Indeed, in 1994, The Great General did an unbelievable 11 holes-in-one in a single round, according to His 17 security gards. This news was mindblowing at that time especially since it was His first ever round of golf. He impressed all the golfers in the world, and we can say, without a doubt, that Kim Jong-il changed the way to play golf.

The world's greatest golfer has died
. Rest in peace, Kim Jong-il.

kim jong il was one messed up dude overall, but there are enough powerful heads i'd much rather see rolling. and indeed people honestly cry over it, remember the poor russian starving mob sorrowful about loosing their tsars... not as simple as it seems through media

nobody^21/12/2011 22:19

It's sad but I really doubt that the whole country would actually cry like that for real.

According to Eric Margolis, a veteran journalist on the subject, South Koreans fear "accidental unification" much more than nuclear weapons.

If the North Korean state ever completely failed, South Korea (and by extension the U.S. which has scores of thousands of troops there) would wake up to a spreading humanitarian crisis, with millions streaming over the demilitarized zone seeking food and shelter.

South Koreans don't want to take responsibility for an enormous number of illiterate, malnourished North Koreans. But neither the United States or South Korea want to keep the electricity flowing through the fences to keep North Koreans penned inside their prison state.

If North Korea collapses, China, Japan, and Russia would also be faced with ships of North Korean "boat people."

China likes having the North Korean state in its region. It is a nuclear armed buffer between U.S. forces in South Korea and the Chinese industrial and military base in Manchuria. If the region were a bar, North Korea would be China's wiry, ex-convict cousin. His unpredictability and nothing-left-to-lose attitude make everyone else cautious.

As Ian Bremmer pointed out, an uncontained humanitarian crisis in North Korea could worsen relations between the U.S. and China. "An outright shooting war between the U.S. and China is "very unlikely," Bremmer says, "but the potential for U.S.-Chinese relations to deteriorate significantly in the [event] of a bad North Korean outcome is very great."

This makes me sick. He was a totalitarian dictator, and I hope he burns in hell. Simple as that.
