cstrike background

hay
i was wondering if i could change the background (the first one you see when you open cs, with the two dudes holding guns) to something i made myself. in other words, how can i convert an image to a .vtf?

and im sorry for asking this here, but getting a decent answer out of normal counter strike-communities is like asking 4chan for help on your relationship (its hopeless)

thanks in advance
