What SOPA is?
Can someone explain to me in a few simple sentences what this SOPA thing means?I've heard its some organisation against internet or something but i didn't fully understood what this exactly is.

P.S. TotalBiscuit has created a 20 minute video bout it in youtube. Just search for it but countries like ours that are living -30 years arent going to get damaged by it.But wait i realized. Only bulgaria is that f**ked up to be living -30 years compared to every other country in USA or Europe..

I dont know either what this SOPA/PIPE thing is all about.. I just heard reddit is going to protest against it, and other sites.. I was like wtf is going on? ;o
SOPA is legislation that when passed, would give copyright holders a right to block out every website that violates copyright laws. So basicly if I illegally posted an .mp3 in XJ, Universal Music could block XJ from being seen in the US (or if the website was hosted in US, even close). There's also PIPA which I don't know much about, but it's similar to SOPA. Meanwhile in the rest of the world, there's ACTA, which is kinda similar to SOPA too.

At first I was pretty mad that they decided to close wiki excactly this day (got 2 exam projects for this week - nice timing).
However if you still want to visit wiki just press escape as it loads page. You can do this since it just redirects you to another page. Hf
You can just turn off your javascript too.
I hope our fellow US KZ players has voted against this law.

You dont want any information from the us? parts of the worlds biggest sites is from the us, google, wikipedia etc..

Moxx. If the owners and hosters of the sites were ''smart'' they would transfer the server in EU or AS and there wont be no problem.
I don't get how what country you live in matters here if it gets in US Legistlation... Most of the things you use today is from US... Clearly you didn't watch the video you yourself linked...

They would still be blocked in US, blocked from all searches, they could not gain revenue from ads and they would lose visitors.

Anyways, the fact that FBI could shut down Megaupload just shows how useless SOPA and PIPA actually are and that every site can be shut down by US surveillance agencies if it's violating USA's copyright laws.
I really hope EU doesn't tolareate such behaviour inside its borders.
