New technique(?) No Speed Loss
Hey all. It's Juice here(with support of jondee) presenting you a new technique that allows you to gain theoretically unlimited speed on diagonal surfaces(with certain angle) that are you cannot slide on. This is if you had the serverside cvar sv_airaccelerate at 100. At normal settings sv_airaccelerate 10 you cannot gain speed that effectively thus allowing you to reach a couple of units more than the speed you started with.
Now you might be asking, how do I perform this technique then? It's fairly simple. We all have heard of russian walking aka silentrunning aka standup groundstrafing, haven't we? Well that’s exactly what you need to do here. You find yourself a nice diagonal surface that is not slidable and just start standup groundstrafing there. It’s suggested that you start from a higher platform and jump down onto the surface to gain more speed and thus having higher speed in the beginning and thus you gain higher speeds while doing this.
Demo: http://www.sendspace.com/file/qcvg3x (done on awp_rooftops, viewdemo player time: 04:27:00) I've touched the ground once and lost some speed, but the concept is pretty clear in there.
A little addition: I've made a simple map to test this technique out(with hacks tho), and found that you can gain speed from wallstrafing.

Thanks to jondee for helping me writing the description. Cheated demo may be removed upon request of forum moderator.
OH MY GOD! UNBELIEVEBLE
So this is only possible with 100aa, or easier with 100aa? Didin't quite understand that part.
Is this then basically the same technique you would use on a downwards vertical slope/surface to gain speed (ofc you can gain speed without silentduck also on vertical slopes)?
Interesting to see that you can use that technique diagonally, and gain speed.
I'm sure people will learn to master this and use it at some crazy places :).....Nice find.
Kinda interresting.
But it's kinda old in Hide'N'Seek, many of players is doing this.
Server IP ? :)

I've been playing on 100aa HNS servers and seen that players strafe down to get more speed, touching the surface, which is not simillar to this
@omilo it is possible to gain more speed because of ability to strafe in duck on 100aa, the difficulty remains same on both AA values IMO
Yeah, but especially on the redroof they don't strafe down. They're doing the same thing as on the demo.
well.. this isn't a new technique, i use this stand-up dd whenever i have the chance because is better than strafing in the air(depends on the height you fall: higher distance - better effect this tech has); u gain more speed like this.
about the speed loss, never tried this on 100aa but on 10aa i think it`s not possible to gain speed with it.
i also believe that bibo used this technique in his last movie(High), he calls`it ledge technique and it seems that in certain circumstances(like sv_airaccelerate 100, fps 200+) u can gain great speed using this stand-up dd on slope brushes/walls(in any map that has it).
Its old.. many pro surfers use this technique like tOni, Rapha, .. and so on.

cheated demo?
And now, my hungarian friend, ask your parents how to read, please :D
i ran to cs to see wtf is this, when i saw it started smiling lol, ive been using this in hns for several years now, cuz its kinda obvious that u can gain speed boost and just continue ducking to keep speed

this is some nice action in public server with this technique
@Torex
Wrong, you were touching the ground all the way

lol, its same thing as yours only that i was also doing strafes...??
old..
I don't see the big thing here? This is just groundstrafes made in tilted areas?
No, it is not new technique, because Kotomi found it in 2011, and I do that long time, on popdog, grass, rr, and other maps
PS: for example http://www.sendspace.com/file/b7x1k1 - with fails, because it is first try
