FPS problems in specific maps
Hello there.
So thats the thing, i dont understand my computer. I can run almost without problems games like black ops 2, and then i play a map like risk_sector and my fps go down to 10.
I know the map has low fps, but people can normally play it without problems, and i just spent 20 minutes to pass it when normal time is around 1 (im not THAT bad, was the fps :D)
I give a bit of data of my computer, if anything else is needed please just let me know.

My config in cs is pretty much default
What can i do to be able to play this kind of maps? Thank you.
Options-> Video-> Renderer-> choose D3D

hope this works on my laptop, got 100fps on most maps and on awp_rooftops i get drops down to 8 sometimes
thanks a lot! it works good now, cant belive it was that easy
not quite finish yet...
when i choose that, all the other maps get a drop of ~40 fps.. any suggestions?
Ye same here :) I play on OpenGL coz of that but u can type hud_saytext 0 or hud_draw 0 in console. You will have 100 fps ;) Or just use D3D only on ATI bug maps like risk_sector,ministry etc
There's so many reasons why your fps drops. You probably heard for last valve update, well lots of people have same problem like you have, fps drops almost every time. Try to install new drivers for graphic card or scan your computer, or maybe it's because of map textures. As i said, there's so many reasons why your fps drops so much.
i dont have that problem, fps run perfect, but not with those maps, and when i use D3D they are still bad but it feels great anyways, i just cant live that activated when playing other maps cuz then is when my fps drops. Atm im doing what guy said, and i understand it can be really difficult to find out why my fps are droping.. i feel like i havent got to my perfect cfg yet

When fps drops searching the way how to fix it may take awhile, i already said that and i repeat that again, there's so many reasons why your fps drops in some situations. Maybe your fps drops because of a new valve update. Nobody can give you a full answere on that question.
yes they said it. we can only give u some good suggestions. but the fps dprops problem happens to almost everybody in different degree coz of many reasons. you cant expect a perfect way that can solve it through and through unless some smart guy sits besides ur pc and help :D

I tried some commands that i found randomly online for fps improvement but that didn´t work. I had little hope for this problem, so not coming to a solution does not surprises me.
I still want to say that im extremely grateful for the first solution, it has made a big improvement in my game and now i can enjoy some maps where i couldn´t even hit the start button before, so thank you very much for that.
