Remove the slide image headers
Before this thread is vanished, please consider all the stuff I will write:

Today is 4th of May, 2013. The other thread in the suggestion forum was posted on 24th February, so basically little more than 2 months has passed, and what do we see?

So pretty much, as expected this was abandoned and is no more up2date and used, why don't you just put the latest threads and make the forums a little bit more active..
I know guess people will support this thread again, but I would like to see an admin opinion and not a closed thread like before, without any statement

the community lives with suggestions and suggestions shouldnt be handled from one person only

If you can do it, write an application for a coding team, and xj admin team could review it.
There is a discussion between the administrators for any suggestion which is suitable and good for the community, there is no need to worry so much about.
There is a plan and to-do list that I made as a developer of the site, latest news and latest forum posts were just a replacement for what's next. Once again I ll give you a very nice feature, it is just one click away.

This feature is useless as it is not up2date. I can give you a simple example: http://oi40.tinypic.com/34npa0z.jpg this is taken 5 mins before I wrote this post.. Do you see your post anywhere there? It is made 15 minutes before my post. What's the point of having it, if the latest forum entries don't show right away?
Sorry, but your (not niki's, but whoever decided this) stubborness towards that banners so XJ could look more "professional" or "gaming" made XJ look emptier than ever and the even worse thing is that you (the XJ admins) don't admit it and still believe this is better for the community.
You could simply remove it and return that old forum threads (even if you have spent (lots of) hours of work for it) until you do that "choice" thing. More beautiful is not always more useful..
It's annoying whenever it loads a new page, I can see all 3 images in a row. The image is probably built up like that.
I will post again, so you can see it AGAIN this is worthless!

As seen, those 3 news have those IDs: 1789, 1790 and 1799, which means 8 news did not get any image headers.
News ID: 1799 was posted on 30 April 2013.
Today we are 12 May 2013.
Since then there have been those news:
#1800 - ROTW #111 - LEWLY on j2s_westbl0ck
#1801 - leggie's monthly challenge #6
#1802 - WR Release #628 - 16 New World Records
#1803 - Zippow Plus
#1804 - Late night encounters #18 solid (lost episode)
#1805 - WR Release #629 - 6 New World Records
6 news in total. No image for any of them. Okay, then it might be that only some of the news get to have an image? But WR Release #626 had an image, why don't the latest two have one as well?
niki said he's going to implement an option to choose between both. Why choose between something useless and not up2date (as proven twice on this thread) and something which increases website's activity?
I (and I believe other XJ users as well) really want to hear the real reason why you don't remove this. We have told you we do not want it. We have shown you you do not update i. Give a proper reason this thing to stay or just have some guts and remove it saying people were right and apologise to the other people who had the thread long time ago.
This is unserious from you, who consider theirselves as serious community.
I am not going to write in this thread anymore, obviously it's useless. Obviously XJ does not care what people want to see and have on the website they keep alive.
Still would be nice if an ADMIN gives us an explanation why is this not removed yet?
