ZOWIE GEAR
20/05/2013 20:19Have any of you tested zowie equipment? They say mice serve quite well and are ranked top amongst other gaming furniture, that's at least. Strucks me as odd it's not very popular (in my range at least), came across it just a week ago. They are currently developing a few other, even more modernized models if you're of any interest. Anyway, I thought that perhaps someone have dealt with this, if so how was the experience when kz?

21/05/2013 01:09The mice just looks and sounds great, havent taken a look at their newer products but I'm not sure if it was about Zowie EC mice that i heard had a scroll incapable of KZing, might be mistaken tho!
29/06/2013 19:01Since you wanted to know shock, I can give a sort of "first impression" of the Zowie AM.
But since im using it in my left hand i haven't really tried out doing KZ runs and lj with it. But what i can say is that the mouse is incredibly precise when it comes to aiming and the mouse just feels really nice holding it since pretty much the entire mouse is rubberized.
And one downside if you are used to a bit larger mice like Deathadder or g500 for example it might feel a bit small until you get used to it.
+ It's driver free, just plug it in and holding down for example button 1 and 3 while plugging it into the USB it will start in lefthand mode, right is default if you aren't holding down the buttons then. Also 1000hz default.
The scroll feels good too, its a bit "harder" than the g400s, well, quite a lot actually but its still good.
AND you get a free pair of glides for it!
One downside is that you cant have all the sidebuttons active, depends on if you are left/right handed which buttons will be activated.
anything else you want to know just ask but that should be it i guess
it's good, for shooting atleast, i remember SpawN used their equipment to play and promote so i guess its fine investment

I had one of their mouses. Quite great actually, unfournately the scroll broke and I had to buy a new one, Razer Deathadder, wich I had since.
These are extremely good mice for fragging, not for kz.
The concept evolved a few years earlier when pros were using 1.1 but wanted something that had a better surface. By better surface i mean people like me whose palm sweats and cannot hold any mouse for long. So we needed a surface that was anti sweat. The 1.1 sweats too much. And the 3.0 wasn't going too great either.
Now at this time their was only one Chinese site that was selling modded 1.1. They had been modding the 1.1 and 3.0 like the steelseries mod of the intrllimouse series that was a big hit among pro gamers (professional gamets who play tpurneys would know this). Those mice were called the SS and SE. It was ahuge hit but soon theu stopped making this. The pros didnt have enough of it snd wanted more. A competitor in the market was needed in the market other tjan the site. The site was 99hk.biz. They were making a huge profit out of it.
But still problems remained. The scroll of intelli was a problem.
Soon after a few years spawn snd heaton quit and promoting a company. It was xowie. They firsy modded 1.1 and improved scrolls and have rubberized surgace. The optics wasnt too changed though. This gave rise to EC1.
In 2010 the whole mTw team had been playing with modded 1.1. One haf SS 3.0 because he had bigger hands.
Pentagram Neo used a SS 1.1 but he recently uses a blue zowie ECS.
SK back days allen zet all used SS 3.0. They had been using it for a long time. The zowie model was a hit back then until some of them switched to a ss newer model. The examples were given to make you understand that they are very popular in the pro gaming scenario.
The am is a newer model dont know about it. It has a good engine but i dont know how good it be in kz. Fraggers need aim and precisiveness and they dont need the scroll button do strong like us to jump around all the time.

02/07/2013 12:51prad, as you said the zowie mice are more for fragging, but as far as i've seen the Zowie AM works pretty decent for both fragging and kz, might try out some more kz runs with it today to see if the scroll can keep up
Yes mate I have not seen the AM they might be good for kz. The ecs ive seen it is good for fragging not for kz :)
ill buy zowie fk along with perform some wrs by using it as a way to demonstrate the particular masterdom
