Dear XJ,

I have now played KZ for roughly 8 years, and I have to admit that I think it's starting to become a little boring. (although I do play from time to time)
So lately I've been playing this game called TypeRacer quite a lot, and I'm actually getting pretty decent at it. My WPM went from the 70s to 136, which I consider to be pretty good. Well enough about that, heres my question: Does anybody know a mechanical keyboard that could improve my WPM and KZ skills?
I've already tried Das keyboard http://www.daskeyboard.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/07/daskeyboard.jpg with blue switches, and Keycool http://24.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m44j5ctSGw1ruqdq7o7_1280.jpg with black switches. My guess is that red switches would be ideal. What do you think?

if you consider buying a mechanical keyboard you should talk to VNS, he recently got one with red switches. I think he can explain the pros and cons :D

there is no possible way how to answer that. Every player has individual requirements when it comes to gaming. As I can see, you've already tried atleast 2 mechanical keyboards. And in fact. They ALL are similar to each other.

If you change from a membrane to a mechanical keyboard, then yes, You'd feel a radical difference otherwise you won't. I recommend you to go to a store ( if you have that opportunity ) and try a few k-boards yourself. Thats how you pick the most suitable keyborad for yourself.

Im buying this one :

They are 2 types of cherry mx switch
The linear one and clikcy one

Linear are red and black (you don't feel the "click" when you press, black is harder to press than red)

Clicky one are blue and brown (the blue is VERY noisy but the sensation seems to be excellent, brown is the same but the clicky thing have less sensation and the noise is the more quiet of these 4 switch)

Ofc they are other cherry mx switch like white but they are quite rare.
You can find other switch like Topre but they are so much more expensive (like 200 or 300$ the keyboard ahah :D )

I had a cherry mx red keyboard (quickfire pro) but those red switch were just...horrible. You can't feel when the key is pressed - or unpressed. I went back on my g110 1 week later, which is a membrane but still.
I'm planning to buy a brown one instead of a blue one for the sound. Even if the brown is still noisy (all the mecanical keyboard are noisy)
