g400 g500 / g400s g500s
03/01/2014 16:38Ok, I talked to few people about these mice but I could not reach a conclusion.
We all know that g400 is widely used in the scene by top players, aswell as g500. Now, does anybody know anything climbing related about the new S series ?
I use an old broken/dying g5 and it's just GREAT. The grip, response & everything are perfect, or atleast for me. As most know, logitech don't produce this mouse anymore (its been years allready).
ShoCk stated that his g400s is worse than his other mouse, the g400 :
it doesn't feel very well in bhop regards, especially that along with the new mouse I get more frequent fails in bhops which I didn't have before.
The good thing though is that my strafes efficienty has raised really signitificantly, noticed that as soon as I made my first strafes. I don't know if 400dpi of difference can really make such a big differense or if it's caused by anything else but I can clearly feel differense in longjumping as well as in regular climbing and strafing inbetweeing bhop blocks, I just jump farther :)
Everybody has their oppinion, but is this totally a source we can all rely on ? As ShoCk said, "time will tell".
Mice logitech producs have a weak cable! But as far as I read on a few forums, g500 seems to have this problem much frequent and faster. What happens is that the signal going from the mouse to the PC is weaker, sometimes disconnecting for a few seconds.

I'm getting a new mouse ... and I want it to be brand new, or atleast not used more than 1 month.(i've had my experiences) Which is most likely to satisfy my needs, considering the fact that I want one similar to the g5. I don't want a longjumping mouse, I want something for climbing, bhoping etc,(aka g5) which has that "HEAVY" scroll that doesn't get slided too easily (like deathadders).
I've heard that g400 's scroll is similar to the g5's. Is that true? Can anybody confirm?
I was thinking of buying g500s or g400s but everytime I decide, somebody flips me again.

03/01/2014 17:33Well i dont really have much to say because i didnt tried more than 2 mouses for kz in my life but i will say something :P
I have now g400s from december 2013[1 month] after 2 half years playing with g500 what was incredible good and precise[even if it was first gaming mouse;was great the change from simple mouse to it :P ] .Now,le me tell you that g400s has a pretty bad scroll->even after 1 month i still have problems doing bhops,his scroll is just so bad and really hard ...i was thinking to record again some maps but this scroll just made me mad at almost every run.And worst from my opinion is the DPI buttons,WTF are they doing around the scroll,srsly if you dont have a hand of a little 5 for sure is possible to press that button under scroll :/
And no super-scroll what was my favorite little trick on g500:P
03/01/2014 17:41I've seen wrs that did incredible duckbhops in tiny tunnels allmost perfectly with g500. Is there any secret ?

wtf dude. i have the g400s like 2months now and the scroll is pretty good for bhop, i'm not a pro bhopper ofc, but it's not as bad as you described it.
Cobrex, i have only once tried the g500 and i really didn't like the scroll, it was too loose for me, but i would still recommend the g400s :p

i have g500s and is the same as the g500.

its worth it since g500 isnt being made anymore since the s release

G400 = A3080E avago sensor and S3095 in v2 version, fix bugs: with Angle Snapping OFF after PID 13333.
G400s = S3095 avago sensor, no changes in the scroll or any other.
