this might be a stupid topic for xtreme-jumps, but i'm curious if someone's around sharing similiar interests. would be a shame if we didnt know the other existed and never talked about it in the end

is anybody studying/teaching/interested in one of the following topics and wants to chat/discuss/help each other in steam some time?

-logic in general
-logic programming
-model theory
-algebra
-automata theory
-complexity theory
-theory of computation
or math & theoretical computer sience in general

if you never heard of this stuff or refer to it as a boring shit you could post your field of interest and find other people to talk with them about it. i think its always nice to swap ideas and exchange about relevant topics with people who bear relation to it

edit:
also dont be shy, im not an expert either, maybe an advanced student. i like to help people in finding solutions (until it gets too exhausting, hehe)

I graduated a High School diploma major in Literature for a reason: I've always been alergic to mathematics :-)

i'm currently doing my master thesis in embedded systems/computing, will hopefully graduate within 3 or 4 months, as soon as im done with my internship/writing the thesis.

to be honest, i've never really liked what i've been studying thus far. some things are very interesting but i haven’t seen the real use of all that yet. even though i’m positive that what i've learnt can be uselful in a field i'm more interested in (e.g cinema and music). i really have to start looking for something in these fields as i really don’t see myself working for these big companies (that I couldn’t care less) in which most of my friends who studied the same kind of stuff are currently working in.

anyway, i've been mostly studying :
logic/hardware – software programming (mostly parallel programming)
modeling systems
digital television techniques/signals processing
maths

if u’re interested in the details of my thesis shit, shoot a message

cool thread

Well, I had a course on theoretical computer science not too long ago so I should be at least somewhat familiar with these subjects. I'm not sure if I passed the exam yet though :D I might need revising if I don't pass.
