Is this the future of the mankind? Do you think that there is even a slight possibility that this could become a reality?

Leave your thoughts and opinions down below.

Basically terrorism over nature and is gonna be punished. Will we actually be able to make progeny being in avatar's vessel?

hopefully the guy gets into an accident by tomorrow

A lot of people are currently talking about the idea of immortality (or being able to live WAY longer e.g. 1000 years) “thanks” to the huge progress in biotechnology. They usually call it the death of the death. I don’t have the required knowledge to say how it’s going to happen (‘avatar’ or other means) but it does raise ethical and philosophical questions like the identity of the individual.

Also do we die “less” and/or “better” when we die at the age of 1000 years? We still die at the end. We remain a “dead man with a suspended sentence” if you will. I don’t think living 1000 years for example is a progress but more like a performance. The most important thing that, I think, people should focus on is living better rather than living longer. Some people who died at the age of 25 enjoyed more their lives than some who died at 100. Quality over quantity.
So before thinking about the death of the death, we should focus on less killing. And this is not a scientific/technical issue but a societal one.

The death is like the reward of the life (or the life being the price of the death, that’s up to you :D). It’s an integral part of the existence, the human cells are meant to die at some point. A cell that doesn’t die is cancerous/malignant. I think that says a lot.

It’s also quite funny that some people think about the idea of living forever when others are currently trying to set up the right to accompany dying people and help them die when they feel like their lives is unlivable/unbearable. That’s very paradoxical but still interesting.

If I knew that I weren’t going to die at some point, I would probably feel very desperate.

offtopic.

we could play kz forever _|_

I want to die, soon not in forever!

This is gonna happen but it's just matter of time. But it would be amazingly stupid because only some people would be ordered to live and other to die. There would be so many wars that even nature couldn't resist to this brainly damaged humanity.

I would feel like I am a Robocop more than a human being if that happens to me...

This guy however, if I may add to the conversation, sees and also shows a few graphs of factual exponential curves of return. What I mean is, if we keep going with the development of any technologies, be it biological, nano, or computed; robotic; artificial intelligence......that is literally where we are headed anyway. I believe his theories and he has predicted the position of growth quite accurately several times up to 10 or more years in advance in his books. For me, ignoring space and all that cosmic jazz, this guy is the Stephan Hawking of Silicone Valley.

He has also created a large number of companies so he is not one of the heretics but rather, someone to actually get the picture from. He puts it into realistic terms even if the idea of "immortality 2045" seems overly ambitious to linear thinkers like we are.

As with all technologies however, and in this case, what he is getting at...I do not believe it will be euphoric. IT will be a prison that we dont realize is a prison much like you were shown in the Matrix films. He sees virtual reality becoming something you actually feel and smell and can move in. It will be your reality. The question immediately arises: what happens if you die in it? Will they keep it like a game with a restart button?

A "simple" computer AI robot, after reading "the wiki" in its entirety in 3 minutes.....can beat the best 2 Jeopardy players and have a higher score that both put together. This in early stages of teaching AI how to actually read and understand......this can seem very scary if you, again, watched the Matrix.

I begin to believe that the movie trilogy is a form of mental conditioning after seeing a TON of material on the subject of this thread and things that are inevitably going to be in our hands wether we want them or not. The movie just helps us accept it easier.

Crazy shit! I could talk all day about this kind of stuff and love the idea, in fact, that if Ray Kurzweil is right, I may barely meet the mark to immortality before a natural death at age 90.

That is to say, If my body makes it that far.
And if I want to. The number 1 human natural inborn DNA encoded instinct is: Survival, so at that time in my life, I will most likely be choosing life over death.

Enjoy the video it really is a good one to get a perspective.

one final thought. 3d printers. Once you have one; you can simply print another one :D

I don't support this.

I don't think this is the correct approach to this problem. It's not just human body, brains gets old as well. The key to immportality is how to keep human young. But as for replacing a body and brains, it' won't be a body nor brains anymore. Conscousness my ass, process in brains is an organic process,. which includes forming new cells to replace old ones and reforming one's curcuits through growth. If brain truly gets transfered to a chip then it will remain in a frozen state, unable to evolve.
