Hello!

So my concern is; i'd like to send some lj demos to a website. The rule states that the max size for a demo is 5MB. My demos are way bigger than that. Is there any way i could make demos shorter; like shorten it just until before the landed jump. Thanks!

No. But you can contact one of demo admins via IRC or PM.

What's weird is that every single demo on that website has been shortened to just slightly before the landed jump; i assume that's the work of demo admins, right?

No man, the jumpers use record bind :) Try this writing this into your console: bind "key" "stop;record "demoname"

Example, bind mouse4 "stop;record longjump_1" So now every time you press mouse4 it will start recording a demo named longjump_1. You can also bind it so it does gocheck + starts recording like this: bind mouse4 "say /gocheck;stop;record longjump_1" :)

no. it's the work of the jumpers that made those jumps.

you would have to have a bind that looks something like this
bind f "stop; record my_lj;say /gc" ->and this will be your /gc button and each use of this button will mean that you record a new demo over the last one.
It's how everyone does it. It's how you should do it.

So, does that mean i'm gonna have to redo all of my jumps? :/

Well yeah... Unless the admins make an exception, which I highly doubt.

I don't think admin will make an exception.
Submit Longjump Record Demos

lolol, i really should've looked up the specific rules about demos. i've had to record all my jumps twice. first problem was the 100.5 fps, and now this. it's so frustrating, but ok, i guess i'll just try again..
