Windows 8 polling rate (hz)

Hello everyone, I was just wondering if anyone knows a method on how to change the polling rate (hz) on a 125hz mouse to 500hz+ on windows 8. I've tried google and pretty much everyone says there are no fix for it on windows 8 yet but I still wanted to try my luck here on XJ. The reason I want to change the hz is because I just randomly felt like I wanted to play with my mx518 for a bit but it's impossibru to jump decent with 125hz. I've tried the windows vista / 7 method but it did not work. So... if anyone knows how to change it, please tell me :)
