Since there were alot of discussions ongoing in the chatbox about CS:Go, KZmod, 1.6
how about making a focus on jumping in "Valve's Engine's"?

e107 can do multiple sites over one userdatabase.

What we could do then is following:

1. Mainsite like a portal where high potential news are listed and top rated forum posts and chatbox.
2. Different subdomains (csgo.*/kzmod.*/kz.*).xtreme-jumps.eu for the different games.

What would be the results of it?
Spams and fight over the different engines can be prevented. The users can follow the communities in which they are interested. The whole community gets more crowded again. And a new horizon will be opened, since we arent mainly focused on 1.6 any more. this could also attract more sponsors and a wider range of competition can be worked on.

i dont think the staff can handle that. maybe new admins will be needed but your idea is rly good

kaynerecord holder25/07/2014 18:16

really nice idea, that would be better than just have all 3 mods on XJ as it is now (its being considered i guess?)

adding a csgo part of xj would bring tons of new members, and even bring back some of the old ones (kimo, supa etc plays kz on csgo) but also as you said attract more sponsors.

lagster mapper25/07/2014 18:30

Agreed.

As I posted here; http://xtreme-jumps.eu/e107_plugins/forum/forum_viewtopic.php?349740.last

XJ needs to stay relevant. Attempting tournament after tournament in 1.6 will only keep people interested for a short amount of time as the playerbase continues to decrease.

Yh this is good idea. Company to grow has to still moving forward, xj stays the same for so long time that it will get boring one day. Keep it as a job not as a hobby.

Nikita25/07/2014 18:44

That's a really good idea! The admins should really consider doing this! :)

+1

Even that i dont like kz in csgo, i still agree to this, why? Because sooner or latter xj will die, but this can bring some more activity, btw im still waiting for KZMOD 2.0, can anyone from stuff bring some news about when it will be fully released?

Good idea, but this is a hell of a lot of work.

1. We would need to develop our own website system. I won't get in details, but e107 is awful coded and should NEVER be used, even v2 which is still in alpha version and being developed by only one person at the moment. The only solution is to go with Zend framework and code everything from scratch, if we talk about PHP. The other option is to use Python with Django framework.

2. We would need quite a lot of capable in every field. Also there isn't many programmers and sys admins, who could help me do this. It will take us at least 4 to 5 months to bring such a site.

If you talk about spam like spam from bots, this is easy to fix.

EDIT:
KZmod v2 is still being developed and we are making progress. Also we have plans to integrate cs:go, but I need people to help me code everything. I simply don't have time and the will do all this alone, because it will take a lot of time, which I don't have.

there must be people over on csgo who are willing to help and has the knowledge of doing so, maybe ask the guys on house of climb to put the sites together? would help both

WeMeRA25/07/2014 22:10

With a little effort this could be awesome!

zzarecord holder Tournament #1 VIP25/07/2014 23:00

thumps up kayne i think you could find some help if you went looking in the right places

Good idea. I don't think there may be any downsides to this and since it happens so that three different games with one particular trait at core potentially have common interest, I hope it's no longer one-man job then.

What about taking the surf community under our hood as well?

propanelj record holder26/07/2014 08:03

I can only think about this, and its just beautiful http://youtu.be/6FMNFvKEy4c?t=3m28s

i dont think that would work, theres already a good surf community and i dont think people will play elsewhere.

had that in my mind in the inactivity from the german site to do a major community on jumping overall in games like defrag, mirrors edge and co.
