An idea that could help to clean the community from cheaters - CHEATERS LEAGUE

Hey guys, I had this thought before, and then I read some chat posts, and decided to expand it and publish it

besides normal XJ division, there should be another one - CHEATERS DIVISION

Players would send cheated demos there. It would be fair, because anyone would have the right to use whatever they want to.
But, there should also be a BANLIST, just like in yugioh, banlist comes every few months or so, and decides what cheats are forbidden to use in that division (some ridiculous stuff, that ruins the point of the game).
BUT
After every banlist, new ''season'' starts, and then every cheater has to publicly explain what cheats he used in the previous season and how they work, so they could be used by other players in future seasons, banned if ridiculous, or used to discover cheats in regular division

Cheaters like VNS and LyNn, and Nikita could be unbanned and allowed to compete in that section only, to raise the popularity

Why is this idea not a bad one:
- utilizes programming (making a better cheat than the other guys have) and KZ skills, so it becomes something like motosports, where both your driving skills and your car matter
- discovers new cheats for regular division, so they could be easily uncovered in the future
- may raise activity
- may convert some uncovered cheaters (because, for example, they were not among the best players, and they think that in new division, they could be better placed in demo rankings, so they chose to confess and change the division)
- will prevent new, young cheaters to start cheating in the regular division, and decide to compete in the cheated division from the start instead

This is only an undeveloped idea for now, do you think it could be made to work?

reminds me the cheated scene in diablo2 lod where pro-cheaters fight using the most cheated items.

Using cheat makes KZ a different game and could be intersting to see what could be done with it. (massive jump bug, impossible sc... it give the maps a second life).

But, here are my concerns :
- It will spread current hacks into the scene and could encourage people to create more sophisticated hack that could be dangerous for the regular scene.
- I dont think having a whole cheated demo section for all 600 maps is a good idea. Maybe just events where people have 1 month to submit the best hacked demo on imposed maps.
- It will probably damage the image of XJ to includ hack section

This is the most bullshit thing ive read about "cheats". You cannot have a competitive game/scene and allowing something like cheating for the lulz and encourage ppl to actually start cheating or let them think its ok. There is nothimg competitive in playing with cheats. fak

I get your point of view but I dont agree.
Playing with cheats can be "semi-competitiv" but its an other game.
The aim is to create the best cheats and using you kz-skills and creativity to find new ways to beat the maps faster. Scripting for exemple could be a competitive programming contest.

Sure, let's encourage the hackers to find new ways of breaking the game even further while we just watch and worship them. Pfft, skills? They are totally overrated. The new hip thing is to activate a simple .exe file to achieve fame and glory.

Edit: Honestly though, is this a legitimate suggestion or a late April's fools joke? To me this seems to be an obvious case of baiting for drama. And here are the biggest reasons why:
1. You suggest unbanning people like nikita and lynn who are nothing but attention seekers.
2. Make a competitive scene with hacks (lol).

I just can't take it seriously. But this thread will probably stir up some massive discussions. I just hope I am wrong. We got enough drama and toxicity in the community as it is.

People actually cheat because they can be considered as good player until they are caught.
No one would dare to record cheat demo in a cheat division, that would be such a shame.

Imo this will only bring more cheaters to the community, not cleaning it up. And if you think people will do with hacks goldbhop for 1.25 or something.. you are wrong. Its easy to create some teleport hack and do maps in miliseconds..

It's a very stupid idea imo.

what the fuck o_O

seeing how many game speed runs utilize scripts and other means I can understand where this idea comes from and even its good intentions, but reality is there are all kind of cheats that will ruin the map in no time (first go to would be teleport, gravity and speed hacks). That means such "division" would require constant maintenance, rules and monitoring and would be just a waste of manpower for something that should not exist in the first place.

This is stupid.

SoUlFaThEr mapper23/05/2015 14:25

Having such a thing promotes cheaters. Why do that?

and +1 to what g-Lp and sprin said
