cs 1.6 steam help
Basically what i want is that other people can join my lan game.
Do i need hamachi for this ?
I joined a friends lan game one time, he said that was due to his ip address changing, and that his ports are not always opened ...
I tried opening UDP ports from 27000 to 27030, but no luck...
I figured i'd find an answer here, because so many people on wr's are specing in lan ...

then open Port 27015 in your current router IP
that IP is at start>cmd>ipconfig> the IPv4
open ur ports on that IP and run server and check at canyouseeme.org if 27015 is running, if not then thats an issue... so fix it else u gonna use hamachi, then ppl can join ur server with ur cmyip.com
I think i opened my port.
PFPort Checker says its opened, but that site says connection timed out...
I've set:
Protocol: ALL
Start Port: 27015
End Port: 27015
Local IP Address: My ipv4 address
Start Port (Local): 27015
End Port (Local): 27015
Did i do something wrong?
13/05/2015 01:36(edited 13/05/2015 01:41)Opening ports is not enough if you are part of local (home) network, you need to use port forwarding, usually from router to your computer lan ip address.
Just google "port forwarding" if you have troubles.
sv_lan 0 ?
@spr1n - i followed instructions from this site: http://portforward.com/, for some other game, but it should be the same...
@musaka - i forgot to mention that i already tried that...
Is there any other ports i should open ?
just open the ports for cs 1.6 and then you should be good to go with sv_lan 0, if it aint working it just means youre doing something wrong, double check your ports.

you need to follow instructions for your router, not some game, so its not the same
... its really very simple:
1. open port 27015 on your router and firewall
2. make port forwarding on your router: 27015 wan to lan using your computer lan ip address
and sv_lan 0 in game is a must ofc.
there is nothing else you need and its just one port. if it doesnt work - go back and figure out what you did wrong.
When you go on that site, first of all you have to choose your router model, then the game. I went there again and found a guide especially for cs 1.6, and it was pretty much the same. It said to open some ports other than 27015, i did that and i will try again later.
I downloaded PFPort Checker and it says my ports are opened, but when i try on any of the sites that check ports, it's always closed.

@KarLi - that's exactly what i did. Except the part with the firewall, because my windows firewall is disabled... I also disabled the firewall in the router options.
Just now, when i disabled avast antivirus for 10 minutes, the port 1200 went green, and as soon as i tried the other port it said connection refused...
So when my antivirus is on it is: connection timed out, and when it's off its refused.
EDIT: Also, one time when i was in-game, pfport checker said it can't check the port because it is being blocked by some other program. And when i exited the game it said everything was fine...
Maybe i'll try uninstalling my antivirus completely. It's not the first time i had problems with port forwading because of it...
