Mechanical keyboards ?
yo, so isit worth to upgrade to a mechanical keyboard
mostly for strafing performance and ofc more syncd + more speed on the strafes
im thinking to get
Steelseries 6GV2 mechanical mx red keys http://loa.com.vn/image/SteelSeries/SteelSeriesKeyboard/SteelseriesKeyboard6Gv2Red_Switch/SteelseriesKeyboard6Gv2Red_Switch.jpg
currently i got
microsoft multimedia keyboard (old membrane) http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41BYHW2PV6L.jpg
and
microsoft sidewinder x4 http://i.ytimg.com/vi/X5lAcKmv0oI/maxresdefault.jpg
will getting a mechanical keyboard increase performance in kz, surf and ljs? and if any1 does have mechanical plz let me know if it was worth it or its same as before in terms of feel, easy to press and strafing
sfe
Dont take red or black, they SUCK for kz or surf.
Go brown or blue. I haven't tried blue and i have a brown actually, it's ok, maybe a bit hard to sync your strafe tho.
The beginning will be very hard (you won't do a single good lj).
hm why is red bad for kz and surf? cuz its suppose to give u a faster response time init and ppl say its better for fps gaming, i know kz is not shooting but theres stil strafing involvd when moving
and when u got urs did it increase ur performance ingame mayb not str8 away but gradually?
just stick with the sidewinder
the keys dont feel accurate tho its why i think a mechanical keyboard would actuly be more reliable in registering the right keys
I remember the time when nobody cared about keyboards ... did 'em get better now? Is it worth investing so much only for a keyboard?

ye i was one of them, but now i think mechanical gives better feel and better key registration but its only "i think" so its why i wanna know if any1 who has mechanical isit actuly that gd vs a normal one
I used the Razer Blackwidow (blue switches) and I must say I did not like so such the keys, now I'm with a Steelseries 6gv2 (red switches) and is very comfortable for me, the keys are more sensitive and also have a good response time, which it is excellent for my taste for LJs and KZ (also for HNS and other games).
Well here is my take on my why it's harder to sync with mechanical keyobards: The actuation point is higher up the keystroke compared to your average membrane keyboard. Your brain is already used to pressing the keys all the way down when you synchronize your mouse with the keys, so when you get a mechanical keyboard your brain is still used to pressing the keys all the way down when in fact you don't even have to. This is just my theory, and it hasn't been proved by anyone, but if you think about it for a minute, it's actually pretty logical and makes sense (to me at least). So yeah, it's possible to become good with mechanical keyboards, but you'd have to rewire the way your brain is pressing the keys by keep telling it the actuation point is higher up the keystroke.
If i had to recommend a mechanical keyboard, it would be any mechanical keyboard with a tactile feeling to it. Why? because you can feel when the key is being activated. This is important because this is basically what your brain is used to with membrane keyboards. If for example you take a mechicanal keyboard with linear key switches (red, black) you won't know where the activation is, you just know its somewhere in the middle. Hope you understand what i mean.
I have Thermaltake black mechanical keyboard, no improvement same old stuff. Takes some time to get used to, but afterwards I would've preferred brown etc... So works for me, nothing fancy.
i think u r right about reds being harder cuz they respond more sooner then u press it b4 it bottoms out,
im gna get either the
qpad mk-50 brown (cherry)
or these 2 which rnt cherry mx branded
thermaltake poseidon z brown
tesoro excalibur TS-G7NL brown
maybe ducky keyboards are also interesting for you.. quality is quite good :P
i have this one with blue cherry mx switches: http://www.duckychannel.com.tw/en/ZERO_DK2108S.html

i'm using Realforce 104UG "High-Profile" (Black/Gray) :D
btw update on this thread, i didnt buy a new mechanical keyboard in the end, i stayed with sidewinder, just gna invest the money into more ram and shit
mayb wil get in future tho
I have SS 6GV2 with Black switches. It's good and been using this keyboard for years now. To be honest I am more into shooting nowadays, but I know it's good for KZ also.
