For me this advise sounds like; that you should'nt sync the music to the clip. That must mean that you have made a clip without any music and then you just put in a song or make the music so it fits the clip? And sync the clip to the music seems to be the normal way of editing?

Well anyhow, I'm pretty sure almost everyone have their own process of editing either way.

Agree, no sense at all

from my experience certain combos/tricks go well with certain parts of the song in a natural way. for example there is a inner rhythm in trick-jump-combos. you dont have to make stuff fit using velocity changes and cuts if it does automatically at some point. for this reason, i often captured all in-eyes before starting to edit and dragged them along the timeline until it fit the length of some part and each "rhythm" (video+audio) suited each other without much adjustment. speaking about 8ball1: imo its a significant part of his style to do it this way, just watch brian 2

btw, this has some consequences: if you go for this kind of "natural" flow there are some songs, even some genres, that typically wont fit due to heavy bpm-differences between the music and, for example, the normal speed of bhopping. so in another way it is contrary to his statement

thats exactly wot i meant, put the jump to suit with the song at the time, not just put a random jump and then put effects to make it bounce to the beat which is a psuedo sync and not real syncing of the flow and atmosphere of the kz movie

@wemera, i didnt understand it at first, but obviously u cant really sync the music to the clip which means cutting parts of the song out maybe, but the other side sync the clip to the music i understood it as 8ball1 was saying make the atmosphere of the movie gd and not random flashes with bass drops in the middle of the jump let alone at the end
