4K 60fps - IceVip on kzex_jumprun2 from 2013
14/10/2015 21:27(edited 14/10/2015 22:25)I wanted to edit a run and I remembered IceVip recorded this run shortly after ndR had made his clip on the same map. It’s old but still faster than the current WR.
When I made this clip at the end of August, I wasn’t really satisfied with the quality. Thus I decided the remaster it to 4K 60fps. I also made a lot of changes, added the grass since the resolution allowed me to and improved the lightning overall. I’m pretty happy with it.
Some info:
The ineye took 1.5 weeks of rendering, floating from 1min to 1min30s per frame on normal spots and rising to 3-4min per frame on the spots with grass.
The first camera took about 30 hours because it looks straight at the volumetric light and that's heavy to render.
Same thing for the second camera.
The third one took about 60-65 hours because of yet again, the grass. Also i had to re-render the tree separately like that http://i.imgur.com/LvRJTqP.jpg which took about 10 hours.
The fourth and fifth cams took 15 hours each, nothing special about them.
I mean, i just spent a lot of time doing it and i hope you like it.
If the video lags for some of you, just turn the quality down to 1080/720p. Also, while rendering I've tested how youtube reacts to that resolution with different settings and all of my uploads were crap but you can download and watch the original clip with the link i provided below and honestly, it looks fucking incredible.

Downloaded, looks awesome, great job. Only thing that I didn't like was the fps drops.
thats some sick quality, the insane res used makes it so u can see so many details like when shooting thru the vents, the green part was smooth as fuk but ye there is some fps drop in there,
4got 2 say bout the camera intro but that looked so nice aswel like some studio thing and clear

Yeah there're fps drops even if your pc can run 4k video smoothly
I'd fix it but it would cost me some ugly blur on the parts where player strafes or bhops

Yeah what would be the point of upscaling 720p to 2160p :D
Tbh i would not compare our clips but if i were to i'd say mine is sicker on the VFX side, yours is better in editing part

Edit: I got it all figured out ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oMz_AKGqt7Y ), found the optimal settings for 4k on youtube and it looks fucking gorgeous now. Now, for the sake of having a normal 4k60 upload ill do another run edit in 4k. Stay tuned.

quality is much better than b4, its clear and crisp now without the extra pixels laying around, it still says i can only watch it in 1080p tho duno why
