GoldSrc modelling
Hello.
Recently I started modelling my own objects for my maps with 3DS Max 2014. Everything was going quite good until I had to export it in the proper format. Although I have spent a lot of hours figuring out the right way to solve this problem, I have stuck so much that I even lost an intention to continue this pointless wasting of time.
So I'm asking for your help.
First of all what tools should I use to export my model? How to use them properly? Is it possible to make glossy surface for GoldSrc?
Thank you :)
exporting tools : http://www.wunderboy.org/goldsourceapps.php
some modelling and exporting tutorial : http://twhl.info/tutorial.php?id=147
2 minutes of google
I tried them, but they only supports 2012 and earlier versions.
so just use older version
here is an explanation of the source smd file (reference is blender but i think it can be transfered to 3ds max aswell):

or if it wasnt possible, do the dirty way. by importing the source smd file into milkshape and export it as an goldsrc smd file.

Hello again. I didn't want to create a new thread so I will explain my new problem here.
I was trying to make tree model but I haved stucked with transparency for leaves texture. I made transparent texture with photoshop in .png format. Everything was fine until I tried to compile it, because compiler doesn't support this format. So I changed it to the 8 bit BMP which is appropriate. But now the image got a white background and is not transparent anymore. So any suggestions from you?
Thanks in advance.

Hmm , the only solution in my mind is Trying other Transparent Format , Like DDS but i dunno 3dmax is Support this format or not , test it
Actually , in past i was an Game Texture-moder and when a game or Blending Program doesn't support PNG and we need Transparency Attribute ,The only way we can use is DDS or Something like that
You must download a Plugin and after install that , you can save your pictures on DDS Format
p.s: i know , my English talking is sucks -_-
